Cheers. It didn't come from Mt Eden, but I do know the one you're talking about, is it lowered on Tridents? I see it driving around Titirangi sometimes.  And yeah, i'll definitely be along to meets once it has a WOF and stuff.

Yeah, Mk5s are fairly underrated in my opinion. There really aren't that many tastefully done examples around, especially when compared to Escorts and the like. Still, point of difference and all that..

SO lush! Have always had a soft spot for cortina's always wanted to coon spec one, ie big engine, tridents/12 slots and lush interior....

There is a mk5 sedan with a V8 that runs around here. It'd be a fairly easy conversion too, massive transmission tunnel and no strut towers in the engine bay. Handling would be another matter though

Good work getting the ol girl back on the road bro, always had fords growing up, olds had a dark red Mk3 wagon, the a sweet met green Mk4 or 5, and a very spaceship white serria giha wagon after.

looking good, you don't see too many mk5 wagon's out there anymore. I think there are still 5 or 6 in various states of rooted where I keep my cars if you need any parts

Cheers all. And i'll keep that in mind, cos decent parts for these (wagon specific stuff in particular) are getting a little hard to find without resorting to Trademe.

And I do keep being regaled with tales at gas stations about how everyone used to have/learned to drive in/regret selling their Cortinas. Kinda nice really.

I used to get that heaps, I once left a gas station without paying after chatting to someone for 15 or so minutes about my car

Cheers mate, if i'm honest the mirrors don't really do a lot. It lives under a car cover, so they get bumped every time I take the cover off, so usually I get a close-up view of the ground. But yeah, i reckon they look better than the OEM ones haha.
