Should make light work of my welds then.

Looks like mega has them for $100, should be fine for my usage.

edit: they come with 3 belts included. I grabbed some 60/80/100 belts while I was at it, should last me a while.

I have a review of the Hitachi electric die grinder that I bought yesterday

I played with it briefly this morning, using a carbide burr on an old exhaust manifold and did a mock port matching job.  Easy to use, a bit heavy so would give sore arms after a few hours use but very easy to move around, munched through the cast iron easy as.  I can see a lot of uses for it / wish I had bought one 10 years ago.

Would probably be careful doing detailed stuff, i.e. like shaping up inside the port of an ali head.  This one doesn't have speed control but wasn't a problem, just move it away from the surface you're grinding, etc.

Might still grab a cheap air one off the Tard (~$30) for small/detailed jobs where air supply won't be such a problem.

Conclusion - It's fucken rad.

That is all.
