KKtrips
Negative. Correcting the angle will reduce the clearance even further (as the nose of the diff will need to come up) so to fix it propoerly, I think I will need to cut the floor and angle the diff lol all fun and games. In that case - dropping the back of the gearbox down will be giving you a world of hurt. Just check that the rubbing isn't the driveshaft rubbing on seatbelt mount bolts that are too long. (surprisingly common)
Beaver
I know....I never said it was helping the pinion angle, just that it stops the shaft hitting the floor so much. I also know where it is hitting, and its the floor .

Seedy Al
um, wouldn't angling the blocks improve pinion angle?, seeing as the diff is higher and there for running the angle higher than normal to start with?
Beaver
Yes. Thats what we are saying.... However its more than just the box being lower and the diff being higher as the leafs do funny things now they are flat/inverted, and I have no clue what angle the box sits at as we made the cross member from scratch, I just had it high enough so the box hit the floor and then dropped it a bit. bam and the dirt is gone. moral of the storey, all youse can stop worrying about me

KKtrips
Moral of the story - set up the diff and gearbox angle to work with the slam job. Then modify the driveshaft tunnel, floorpan and bump stops to suit. Making the angles suit the bodywork is just long term pain.
Beaver
Im all about the pain.

Steelies
do like i did last night and not see a curb at a gas station. boing, crunch, clearance. then gas station burnouts to get un-beached.
