felixx
Got my seat off and stripped the leather... I hit the frame with a wire brush... Just a little bit.. decided to leave it as it is now. Off to get some leather this week, then I can have a crack at recovering the seat.

felixx
Well I went to clarks saddley in Rangiora and got enough 2.5mm leather to make 2 saddles (I think) Also got 1 doz aluminium rivets $30 bucks. I was pretty happy with that. Hit up the charity barn and got the worlds loudest tweed jacket. Thanks Pete for the heads up Everything is falling together

felixx
Hi guys put the seat together but the leather was tooo soft. Went back to saddle shop. Guy had misunderstood me. I left with 3.5mm leather square. cut soaked in hot (tap) water with a few drops of detergent in it. Leather is on frame and this time I punched 3 holes on each side and laced the seat to get a nice contour (pics coming)
felixx
showing the laces the bulge at the front will disappear when the front is riveted and the laces cut/ loosened

felixx
Thanks man.. It feels more solid than the last attempt I also suspect the last leather was not vege oil cured.
felixx
OK, saddle is looking OK I was 2 rivets short managed to get the old brooks badge and the loops for a toolbag onto the saddle too One more soak/ shrink cycle, with the leather at the end cable tied down to the springs and it will look pretty good I think
