J-Calico
I've heard that the guy in Levin is extremely dodgey and that he almost always misses things off the cert plate or gets things wrong. If that's what you're after go hard. Ha, yea I think he left the 'C-notch' off the cert plate on a freinds ute. im sure it was him Otherwise, what's wrong with using Danny? yea, also keen to know why?? Brennan
Nothings wrong with Danny or Marty, dads in the hot rod club with both of them, we just get the feeling he wouldn't want to do it, being japanese. will ask for sure when he comes around to check one of dads. Simon
I'm pretty keen to put mine on a trailer and take to Clint lol So much easier to just show him what's going on via pictures than it is to try and communicate with people in town.
Truenotch
Hah! Danny races a Honda Civic... He has no right to criticise you for having a Japanese car. ** Edit - AE86 front suspension and steering should all match your stuff also.
Brennan
well not so much the "japanese" but more the "boy racer" lol Will probably end up using him, as he was very helpfull with my last ke70. Cheers about the adjustable's, opinion on cut springs and better shorter shocks?
Truenotch
You're better off going for the adjustables if they can be certified because of spring choice etc. Otherwise trd / good lowering springs and a decent shock will do the job.

Brennan
It's all right. Cheers though.
CorollaGT
Danny's a GC - just approach him with a good attitude. And like Markku said he's not anti Jap. Though can be tough - bear in mind he's just covering his arse. Prob more so idiot flat peakers. Was going to fail my Corolla for being far too stiff with 6kg/4kg springs (on a 1120kg car!) but let it go through with shocks on max soft. Simon
Talking to dad, I just realised hes good mates with him. Sometimes I wonder who he doesn't know.
Truenotch
It's Palmy simon and your old man's been here a LONG time... Just assume he knows everyone . Danny also did his apprenticeship for Mazda - don't tell anyone.

Dell'orto
Yeah Danny is all good, pretty straight up and down though. Marty would be a bit laxer if you could ever get him to show up Which guy in Levin? I thought the one who certed the 1UZ WRX lost his cert ticket...doesn't Ken Douglas do it? Brennan
There was two guys in levin, the guy that certed the v8 subaru and Andy Smith. Allot of the local hot rodders are using Andy these days, he comes up to Palmerston often too.
Truenotch
Looks great man. If you can, try to aim for 380mm runner length (from the back of the valve to the tip of the trumpet). It seems to be a reliable formula but it tough to try and fit under the bonnet.
Brennan
wow thats a distance, would need 120mm'ish trumpets. My boss has about 310mm on his chevron racecar, and i worked it out about that on a online calculator. so will aim for 310mm for a start. Roman
That wooden pattern thing is cool, I assume that's going to be some sort of mould for a casting? Tasks like that look reasonably simple completely stump me, haha.
Brennan
Yea will be used to shape the sand in a box. Then take it out and pour aluminium into the indent thats left. When it's Cooled down. Take it out and machine up the faces and drill and tap all the holes.
