Brennan
Yea I really like those. Don't like the idea of expensive imported wheels tho. I do have some big plans for future wheels though. Top secret wheels
Truenotch
What price are you selling the adapters for on trademe? I know a guy who was considering one (from Te Aroha) and I reckon you should be able to sell heaps of them... These engines are the new 4AGE. corey_jorg
hey, off topic but can you remember how wide the mx5 subframe was? thinking about doing the conversion to a dx. cheers corey.
Brennan
about 1500mm wide. 90mm wider than a ke70. Ive seen s13 done before into an ae86 which looked like it worked alright. otherwise if i was to attempt it again i would go with a altezza rear, because they are so cheap, easy to find, have great lsd options and are good ratios. And simply shorten the driveshafts and control arms or make some new ones. Problem would be if you wanted to run small wheels and the brakes may be to big. corey_jorg
but is the altezza irs setup as straight forward as the mx5? nice and square. the silvia setup look like it would be a mish but mx5 would be easier. im not worried about width as will be running some 13x10s with huge dish and wana run boso style guards to get some looks. will do abit more googling. cheers. Dell'orto
What the hell, you cast your own rotors???
Brennan
yea, the ones i brought had to many holes. So when i converted them from 5 stud to 4 stud. it wasn't a very nice fit.

Guest Nominal
Old-school Mini's and Morris Minors had a basic sheetmetal box type heater with fan. No fresh air intake though, and would probably need recored. In my experience most 'modern' heater units are ugly plastic things that are hard to adapt. Could use the core from one, and make a steel box for it though. I cut up a NOS Morris 1100 heater to use for my project. This is the basic one I'm thinking of:
Guest flyingbrick
Hey man. The heater core does not need to be a heater core! You can use any radiator or oil cooler ( use anti corrosion stuff in ur water if its a steel core) Those extruded aluminum round finned oil coolers would be ideal! Mounted in a PVC pipe with air blowing past!! For fans you have many many options- just depends on how much blow you want.
Brennan
Cheers guys. pretty sweet idea to use a small oil cooler as a a core, will have to remember that for future projects
BDA780
Amazing work! Super cool that you cast your own brake rotors. Ā A friend is building a new rally car for the new Extreme rules and is using one of the Demon Tweeks heaters. They are tiny and appear to be converted radiator cores from Computer cooling systems with a computer fan. Ā Keep up the sweet work,
Brennan
Mmmm very interesting. just looked up water cooled computer radiators, and they look pretty sweet. might have to use next time.
