Brennan
The cams where doing some funny things on the first dyno too. but that may have been related to one of the many other problems. Guy on altezza forum had a similar cam rattle and eventually found that it was because of low oil pressure, caused by the sump being bashed into the pickup point. Mine is a little dented next to the drain bung. Im also using 5w40 penrite oil, so will go to a 5w30 castrol synthetic and see it that helps. Not really so keen on pulling the cambelt off with what ever else needs to be removed to access the filter.
Simon
Lol I dented my sump before I even started the motor by pushing it out of the shed. Sump guards are very necessary. Sweet that it was an easy fix re. fuel pump!

advokit
Hey man, car looks awesome with the SSRs on it now. What tyres are you running on the 7s? Trying to find something Certable that doesn't look like it came from a tractor.
Brennan
Hey. They are the 195/45/14 toyo's 14 inch tyres are going to be a bit of a nightmare in the decent future I feel. As from what I can tell most companies including toyo have stopped making low profile 14's.
kpr
have they actually stopped making the t1r in 195/45? looks so much better on those rims too.
Brennan
Last time I checked the 195/45/14 wasn't listed on any of toyo's international websites. Hopefully they are just slowing down production. Not stopping it.

CaMpylobacter
badass! choice to see you're still having fun mucking round with stuff! if you're after a flash harry flywheel i might know a guy with a surplus trd lightweight chromoly one from an altezza (he replaced it when he did a clutch and thought he had a dual mass, so he bought a single mass exedy heavy duty kit and used the flywheel that came with that and instantly regretted it. reckons the trd one makes them heaps peppier). I shal enquire edit: he wants $120, is in palmy and is going to make sure he definitely still has it and will weigh it for ya. will keep you posted.

CaMpylobacter
6.9kg (seems heavy? who knows.....) hit me up on facey/at burgerfuel meet this week and I'll put you onto him
Brennan
6.9kg sounds about right. Factory dual mass is about 12-13kg without the clutch!! sounds great! cheers.
CaMpylobacter
I remember one instance when you were behind me after leaving the pub yesterday. You were about 30metres back and we were sitting at about 80-90kph. I saw a bit of a lump in the road which I thought 'shit, some of the lower jokers are gonna clip that' a second later I heard a pretty huge geesh coming from your car. must be a few scrapes on the underneath of you slammed jokers from that road! I think sparkle has a couple of shiny bits underneath the BMW now too!
Beaver
Pretty sure this is the only ke70 that Ive ever pined over, wicked stuff! Perfect combination of modernisation (while keeping it in the family) and suitable period spec mods. And its slammed tho thats a plus in anyone's book. Rhyscar
I like this. Saw ya yesterday at the ashurst garage. Thought it was 4age, best sounding beams I've heard so far has slightly reduced my hatred of the 3sge engine bred. Good shit nice build
AllTorque
I went to the Palmy monthly meet yesterday and this little corolla caught my eye. Everything is spot on. I've just read the build thread from the beginning. I didn't realise how much work you have done to it. Great job man. Well done.
Tank
Very nice car mate, any chance you could do a brief summary of parts needed for the swap as ive just picked up a beams setup and am looking into the exact same thing myself, looks like a blast to drive! Cheers, yes is pretty crazy to drive. Not a lot needed really, apart form the obvious engine, gearbox, driveshaft. Link g4 Fuel pressure regulator radiator with the in/outlet on the corect side. (i was looking at a alloy ae86 one from china not long ago that was correct(may have been for a usdm ae86)) w5# series speedo cable to fit in the j160 and replace the electronic one (reads about 10% out on mine)
