KKtrips
After market lowering springs on the front would be your best bet.

Borgweiser
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 316722.htm Is pretty cheap when you think about all the hassle involved in getting them compressed/cut evenly etc, just do it
Beaver
just cut them. should be able to lose a bit of height and stay captive.
eskie77
yeah i think im heading towards cutting them thanks
eke_zetec_RWD
just dont cut too much haha, i cut mine and it was all good, compressing them wont make them stiffer like cutting does
camo_78
dont compress them,my panelvan came with compressed fronts and talk about coil bind, worst vehicle ive ever driven ae,would never trade again.my cortina is running them at the moment too, theyre getting swapped out for cut springs,at least with cutting it stiffens the springs up,compressing doesnt
coldturkey
I wouldn't recommend compressing standard springs, because as mentioned it doesnt increase the spring rate at all. You end up with a low car with soft suspension - not nice. If you get some stiffer springs then compressing them is normally OK though. All in all, cut springs have a bad reputation because of a few idiots but cutting springs is a good option as long as the springs are captive and they sit OK in the spring hat. (Albeit whether they are legal or not is debatable)
My name is Russell
Have not read the above but making a set of coil overs is super cheap and you can just swap in original struts if you don't wish to cert at WOF time. When i got my springs compressed it made the escort super low and killed the spring rate so wouldnt recomend. (as put in bizos escort.)
