hey,has anyone on here put a 4age into a escort.if so how much is involved and aprox how much is spent making this change over thanks just brain storming what to do to my road weapon to make it a bit faster without modifying a whole lot.if you have done this mod ,have you had to do the rear brakes to disc also. thanks

hey been doing a bit of work on my escort over the weekend and noticed the engine sump sits on the steering rack.The engine mounts are spaced out with steel but still not enough to clear the sump.Can you get longer engine mounts for to clear the sump and are they 1600 ones or 1300 ones or what lol.The engine im running is a 1600 any help greatly appreciated

are you talking about the rocker cover leaking or the front timing cover leaking.I replaced the rocker cover gasket as could smell oil burning .The smell dissapeared when i did it but now has returned and i am thinking these seals you are talking about are the culprit !

heya,im going to lower my escort with lowering blocks at the backs,whats the best way to lower the front to match the back evenly. Cut springs so still captive or heat the springs.Been reading a fair bit bout shortening shocks to keep the springs captive on here. ideas escort modifiers lol

hey man ,is it a auto choke or a cable operated choke ?if it an auto choke make sure its all adjusted properly.I have a 1600 escort and had major troubles adjusting the chokes till i got it right now it starts first pop took ages too get it right.

hey so ive got a 77 panel van with mild cam.ive lost the valve settings specs that i got with the cam, so should i just set them alittle more open than standard settings on both the inlet and exhaust ?? ive got them set at the moment standard which probably is causing her to be under powered.i know it depends on the lift of the cam and such but yeah just curious... thanks for your help in advance

yeah i probably shouldnt of put minor mods,i want to put a more modern engine in it and get more power and a five speed box.Im a mechanic by trade so do all the work myself except for the cert ....
