  1. Cheers for the help guys. Anglia4= Champion Thanks for the offer UJ but I'll just tax some from the tin at work. Plus get some grinding paste and lap the shit out of it!!
  2. You understand the situation completely. Mk2 cortina struts I have been told are Imperial and Escort/Starlet ones on the TCA are metric. But with my rudemetry mathematics (SOH CAH TOA) and measurement I make the angle of the two tapers to be the same... Shim stock is a boomer idea. Will be a cost effective fix, cheers for the suggestion. The R&P is good, just small hold ups like this, I'm so close I can smell it.
  3. Hey UJ Putting Rack in pinion in my Mk1 Cortina. Have used starlet gear, with mk2 Struts. Luckly certifier picked up on movement where Starlet lower arms go into Mk2 Struts. Need to sort this issue but having problem between Imperial and Metric tapers.. Want to run some of those adjustable escort TCAs that are on Trademe. So might see wether engineers can bore out tapers to suit!!! Mission continues
  4. Would be cool if you could thanks. Cheers I'll try there too Thanks
  5. I'm after a favour here. I'm looking for the lengths of both Anglia and Mk2 Cortina Track control arms if anyone is able to help with either! Measurement from centre of where it mounts in crossmember out to the Ball Joint pin. I have done the googley searchs but have revealed nothing yet!!! Does anyone know what uses the same ball joint pin taper as a Mk2 Cortina?? I think they have an Imperial Taper
  6. Did you get your vibration fixed? Was it the diff? In my Mk1 cortina the o2 sensor pick up on the extractors were hitting on the engine x-member and a bolt from the g-box was touching against that x-member to. Create clearance vibration gone. Just putting it out there for other ideas or areas to check if the diff wasnt the problem
  7. Cheers kritta that was my next thought. So all Robinson did was to replace the insides of your smiths one to one that would accept the 4age set up?
  8. yeah just one coil. there is a wire that runs from the neg on the coil to the tacho and then I have one wire that runs no where. How would I figure what one is the ignitor switched wire?
  9. Is it possible to connect a Smiths rev gauge RVI type to a blue top 4age. Have been searching the net all afternoon and haven't found a solid answer yet. I'm coming to the conclusion that it won't be possible!! Here is a wiring diagram I have managed to find. Mine is the middle one. Cheers
  10. Well done. Awsome to hear when cars get certed. Will keep my eyes out for it around town
  11. Could try Safe Air at Woodbourne, they do heaps of NDT. Not sure about private jobs but worth an ask!!
  12. bricon are good guys. out towards the airport. was around $100-$130 for one
  13. yeah this hits on the side at the back end so 3-5mm i think i wont touch it with a file!! Having the flange milled down is a good idea but dont think it would remove enough!! Probably have to add a spacer to 1 engine mount to to put engine on a lean!!! Cheers
  14. For all of you that have cut and shut a 4age inlet manifold. Can you remember how thick it was???????. Got pulled up on my cert for the brake M/C hitting the manifold so want to file some meat off to give some clearance!! Cheers
  15. Iv been putting one into my mk1 cortina over the last few years. Its been a big, slow job, but i have learnt a heap along the way. Would be heaps easier if you were a good welder!! To get it wired up was around $500. Good luck
