lowering front of escort

heya,im going to lower my escort with lowering blocks at the backs,whats the best way to lower the front to match the back evenly.

Cut springs so still captive or heat the springs.Been reading a fair bit bout shortening shocks to keep the springs captive on here.

ideas escort modifiers lol

dont compress them,my panelvan came with compressed fronts and talk about coil bind,worst vehicle ive ever driven ae,would never trade again.my cortina is running them at the moment too,theyre getting swapped out for cut springs,at least with cutting it stiffens the springs up,compressing doesnt

I wouldn't recommend compressing standard springs, because as mentioned it doesnt increase the spring rate at all. You end up with a low car with soft suspension - not nice.

If you get some stiffer springs then compressing them is normally OK though.

All in all, cut springs have a bad reputation because of a few idiots but cutting springs is a good option as long as the springs are captive and they sit OK in the spring hat. (Albeit whether they are legal or not is debatable)
