Beaver Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 I imagine they/anyone would pussy out and not go as wide as possible incase you complain about it rubbing etc? Quote
crustywhip Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I stopped in and asked what the legal mumbo jumbo was with running widened steels. They said the whole car would need to be certified not just the wheels. Just some food for thought for those like me who are heading that way Quote
Beaver Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 legally, thats correct. realistically, its a load of bullshit. ive personally got wofs with widened steels and know of others who have as well. just make sure you clean up the welds and make them look nice. or just swap wheels out for wofs. and may as well put uncut springs in at the same time etc lol. crustywhip Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Its my age showing now back to removing my cut springs for my wof next week. Quote
kicker Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Will do, watch this space From my investimigations they come highly recommended, but yeah, pics are cool, especially pics of widened steelies Here's some to look at in the meantime Quote
kicker Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 As Beaver posted at the start widening costs $80+gst per rim and also moving centres costs $30 or $35 + gst (I can't remember which ha), turn around is going to be a couple weeks. Quote
Beaver Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 sweet, I just got a quote from them of $85 + GST for 15" rims going 2" wider. still unsure about how wide to go etc....urgh Quote
Beaver Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 probably should aye....might take them in this weekend. tax refund can pay for them Quote
kicker Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Update: Just picked up my rims from Howat Tidy work and a good price, $160 to have two rims widened 1" and $70 to have the centres moved on the other two. Quote
kicker Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 ^ Ford Ranger steels? Close, I was hoping to find some of those but got some Holden Colorado ones instead Quote
CaMpylobacter Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 far out that's cheaper than beaver's mum, IMO. Quote
