dohcfordman
Its old, but not old enough, so I am posting it here to avoid flames.... although I wouldn't mind one (beer I mean lol) This was the first car I ever bought myself for $600, standard from the repco paper air filter, to the Philips cassette player to the tiny 14" rims and factory 4wd ride height. It was pretty average with random matt black touch ups and some rust in the A pillars (long since fixed.) Not all bad though. Went through a little build it break it phase (poor old thing - I gave it hell, it's still going. (Jappa) Ford tough!) And now several thousand dollars and a few years later..... new shocks, bushes, low king springs that don't really make it lower, paint job I did at course a few years back.... some pics of it in various stages over time..... http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/3685/getattachment44.jpg[/img] Rust is trying to make a comeback. As you can see I am making sure it is not. Its booked in getting some welds in a couple of weeks. I cant weld worth a shit, have tried and..... hey, I am being honest here. Otherwise I would just do it if i could. I have plans for it (dont we all?) Found a body kit, starting to paint that up (rear and side skirts, been very lazy and they have sat for a couple of years) new pix of the work up soon. EDIT - did select the 15" 800x600 res as per rules, but its still fucky?
BlownCorona
slam it on something smaller than 16" (?) with a few inchs of dish and bolt a bpt in? would look awesome imo
dohcfordman
dish = good idea I would put on these if I could ($ says otherwise): Maybe that or go standard with 15" Tx5 gt rims or Mazda 625 swirl rims and slam it lower BPT? lol this thing skids very easy and torque steers bad enough n/a! Plus at the moment its pretty good on gas. This is my body kit - (some foha/fiber master/top town inspired kit) - Loving the side skirts and spoiler, rear bumper is okay, probably like it more when its color matched. Still looks the same haven't done a thing since I started sanding it years ago - been a lazy fuck. Finally making a real start on it! BlownCorona
i assume its a b6d at the moment? my old GT familia had the exact same traction tourque steer issues

My name is Russell
slam it on something smaller than 16" (?) with a few inchs of dish and bolt a bpt in? would look awesome imo A BPT, That would be a downgrade! Jeah go the FE3! (I have one in my escort also) nice guy good engine
dohcfordman
Yup its an FE3 pretty much standy as in there apart from the nice paint, pod and catch can (not in the pic). Exhaust wise it has 2x resonators and that bore. Id like some headers but $$$ and the bore may be going - don't want to cut up that fiberglass bumper. Fixed the sanding run mark on the tail light as well - waiting for LED's to come so they shine through the tint better.
Steelies
i still have a spare FE3 exhaust flange - from a certain persons first escort motor - if you want it!

(I have one in my escort also) nice guy good engine hmm could have sworn i wrote bpt/fe3t/b6t to cover the bases on my not so extensive mazda engine knowledge, fe3t it and slam
dohcfordman
At the moment I'm doing some bodywork; roof needs to be feathered more, I'm going to sand the rest of the quarter with 180. Epoxy then wet on wet 2k black tint primer. Its hibernating at the moment and it will go back into hibernation once the primer is on while I save for base and clear coat. dohcfordman
Forgot that I made this. Car is rust free, bodykit is on..... Custom made front bar Then when it was all good, this happened..... some dickhead drove into it Getting it mint is priority. Needs roof, both rear quarters and entire r/h side repainted (r/h door and guard have been hit - another day, another dickhead. U-turn+fail= into my car!) So all up about 2 grand - Im picky and want it MINT. Then tints. Dynamat. And then Im going to lose the racer spec fart cannon/drone box/big bore and get some dual tips. And finally some decent slam. dohcfordman
If anyone cares.......... car got fixed By tttxxx555 at 2012-02-25 By tttxxx555 at 2012-02-25 right sideskirt and spoiler have now been painted and are on now By tttxxx555 at 2011-07-25 custom/hack front lip aka snow plow of death > small animals.... Cant remember if I put pics up or not. By tttxxx555 at 2012-02-25 Big shift knob for the non existant interior, thanks to the sunroof of fail (it leaks so I took the carpet out). Found out I have to get a new sunroof. $950! Siliconed it up, cos I figure $950 = new rims and lowness.... Dont you hate it when you sign up, type in a dumb username you hate then suddenly think of one you actually like and realise your fucked and can't chage it? Yes, that's me. If I could change it I'd go with "Stealthstar". The alternative was "Turdstar" but since the car is relatively straight and is all one color I cant really call it that. dohcfordman
Tried on a set of these. Stagged 16x8" and 9" borbet copies, +30 offset. Front was okay but rear wouldnt work without spacers and/or guard mashing. Wasnt keen for that since the car has just had panel and paint. By tttxxx555 at 2012-03-18 Ended up with these. Thought they would look rice but they look better than the fake borbets did! Need some tyres for them. 2.5" of dish By tttxxx555 at 2012-03-18 By tttxxx555 at 2012-03-18 Now to start the hunt for superlow springs, dont know if they even exist. durty
More like 0" of dish. Borbets look way sweeter imo
mikuni
Damn this thing would actually have been awesome with those fake borbets on it. Please try harder and make something like that fit! Those fake dish wheels look average I'm sorry.
