I'm using tubes in my rims. 145/65 on a 7. Had a bit of trouble with them pinching but lube them up this time and haven't had trouble. And I only run 35ish in them and they get a hard time. Plus peace of mind that they can't do what yours did. Although I'm surprised they came off the bead because when I got flats on mine they never came off the bead even when they were dead flat and driven on for 50m or so. Going to use them on some 8s when they arrive.

Yeah, I got 185/55-14 on 9.5's with a tube in them. Ran about 38 or 40 psi but never really did any kays to experiment.

I would only run a tube on 3 piece though. So much easier to just bead blast the tyre onto the rim with a tubless setup.

I had one go down on me but stayed on bead and didn't damage rim thankfully.
