Spencer
how peculiar, any kind of mech/electrics? look pretty cool on a car so slammed Been around in hot rodding for years, so you don't kerb your lush whitewalls
Snoozin
I'm keen for a set on the Trump, although I think I'd kerb the panels before the tyres seeing as the wheels are tucked inside the guards so much.
BlownCorona
yeah, im usualy great at parking, but as soon as i get a nice set of wheels, you can ride a bike between the curb and my car :/
brookfromhamilton
all nighter last night paid off kinda... until the rear tyres came off the bead in huntly, didnt quote make it to the nats ah well. looks tough as.
Simon
Oh sucks. What pressure you running? I would be putting like 45psi in those heh. Much better than hub caps.
brookfromhamilton
looks tough i reckon when they were on, shit not sure whats in it, the dude who put them on in the shop put the air in. not sure how to get them so stay on? thoughts? 175/50/13 on 8.5"
Simon
thoughts? 45psi. He probably though "oh yeah rear of a fwd hatch = 32 psi"... Edit, probably should find out more before I say that. Do they rub? Were you driving it quite hard? Was it fully loaded?
brookfromhamilton
na don't rub at all, it can come down lower actually but I want to keep my sump fully loaded yup but those adjusties dont even move with a full car load aye... mmm one came off the bead straight away then in huntly the valve was split and it went down hence the towie. Ridal
I'm using tubes in my rims. 145/65 on a 7. Had a bit of trouble with them pinching but lube them up this time and haven't had trouble. And I only run 35ish in them and they get a hard time. Plus peace of mind that they can't do what yours did. Although I'm surprised they came off the bead because when I got flats on mine they never came off the bead even when they were dead flat and driven on for 50m or so. Going to use them on some 8s when they arrive.
brookfromhamilton
mm yer the first one came off the bead... the other one just went down from the valve being cut i swear. o and yer i have tubes in mine to
Simon
Yeah, I got 185/55-14 on 9.5's with a tube in them. Ran about 38 or 40 psi but never really did any kays to experiment. I would only run a tube on 3 piece though. So much easier to just bead blast the tyre onto the rim with a tubless setup. I had one go down on me but stayed on bead and didn't damage rim thankfully. brookfromhamilton
yer i dont know what ill do, he got one on blasted without tubes, said it took him like 2 hours? so he put tubes in the others.. but im concerned about that valve rubbing and cutting
Simon
Id believe 2 hours. I have battled with tyres for days haha. Only thing you can do is make sure the inside of the valve hole is well smooth and chamfered. Helps if the hole is close to the center too.
