My name is Russell
Keen on these fullas http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =360929995 But cant quite get my head around how i could go about mounting it to the diff with the clevis it has on the bottom. How could i fit a rose joint/bush on the bottom of the coil or to the axle housing. Or should i just continue my search for a more appropriate coil over. shizzl
weld a perch onto the axle housing and bolt a rod end on it, then the coilover could mount to that
Brock-Lee
unwind bottom mounting and machine a new one with an eye at the end and mount a spherical bearing in it/buy ones with this already

Unclejake
What are you trying to achieve? You can buy shocks with an external coil spring that will bolt to your existing shock months
shizzl
if i had any skils at ms paint id draw it up... make a platform so to speak on the diff with a hole in it..bolt in a rod end/jose joint/heim joint etc so that it sits vertically, and then mount the coilover to that... id say youd need to use 5/8s joints...http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 584445.htm have it sitting up like in this pic... see what i mean? if you make the platform triangulated and gusseted it would be strong as hell and piss all maching...youll only need to drill 1 hole in each platform for the rod end to go into... mikuni
for a tiny cost saving on those coilovers you are going to greatlengths to make them fit. I'd look in the direction that UJ has wisely suggested or just get a more conversional style coilover to suit what you are trying to do
Escorto.
I think this is what Shizzl is getting at, ish EDIT: no scale here yo
Valiant
Look into somthing like these http://www.afcoracing.com/hp_shocks_reactor.html Looks like more initialy, best solution though I think. Those Evo ones look nice but they are very long and they have a non standard looking spring. I think it will take a lot of work to make them fit, also when you want to change the spring rate you will be stuck with non off the shelf springs. Places that support speedway etc usualy stock stuf like this. I've seen specials in NZ racer etc for them at very reasonable prices.
My name is Russell
Ok yup scrap that idea of the EVO coil then your all right, i could make it work but would end up with an odd turret settup not easily interchangable.
Steelies
stock car rose jointed coilovers?
shizzl
thats the one escorto... but the platform could be brought down in front of the axle tube aswell.. stockcar coilover kits arent good for rd cars..as the sleeve just sits over the shock. if you wanted to use speedway gear youd be best to go with affco superstock stuff.. the springs are easy to get in any length and spring rates. ohallorans probably do the best stockcar set ups and you can get them from edge race parts etc..HRP also do them and im pretty sure carlos chestnut(steel surgeon) would aswell
mikuni
I reckon you're just better to grab some conventional style coilovers, similar to below. They can be had from a range of vehicles but Nissan ones look like a good option. http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver ... 2_full.jpg edit: proper link http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 086994.htm

Jase
cheers fella i'm def keen on those^ for the other style would def depend on your original shock and spring placement versus your planned setup, ie i'd mount my coilover behind the axle tube to deaden twist on the diff
jakesae101
pm chrustywhip i think he may work at road and track from memory

Unclejake
No. Mount one in front of the axle tube and one behind the tube if you wish to soften axle tramp. I still don't know what you are trying to achieve though. Do you want to increase your spring rate?
Jase
if you have questions i suggest asking UJ as he and Aidan have more knowledge and real life experience in a stray pube than the bulk of us. haha beaten
