crustywhip
I like the idea but would like to see more on the springs and how they are going to work. I know it wont carry much weight but will it bounce around? Looking forward to seeing it when its done.
KKtrips
yeah its going to be bouncy as shit - just like any unladen trailer.. they will work fine AFAIK - this method is called underslung.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Underslung meh its a trailer - if a spring breaks I will ratchet the chassis up firmly to the axle and tow it home and then fix it.. or if its bad chuck it in a ditch in some long grass and come back the next weekend to grab it
Simon
While they may be "underslung" ktrizzle, they are still upside down on your trailer. If you took the leafs to bits and assembled them the opposite way (leaving out the small thick one, that's for builders mix) they would work like normal but upside down. EDIT And the one you posted on page 2.
KKtrips
Ah Yes I see what ya saying - I could honestly run one leaf each side if I wanted to - the weight is next to nothing
Simon
Ah Yes I see what ya saying - I could honestly run one leaf each side if I wanted to - the weight is next to nothing Oh yeah hard out. My alto has one leaf per side. Might add another and lower. Probably wont, just build a trailer instead. Think I'll keep mine a trailer up till the last min though. Kind of handy.
