Unlike some of you guys I only have one car...lol so its gotta be back on the road asap.

oh snap.

dont worry, it wont be long untill you "cant say no" to another cortina, then its only a short ride to 4 cars rusting on the lawn.

we've all been there, its just a matter of time..

good work though, keep fixing and learning, soon you'll be able to tell Gaz how to re-build pintos (because they need re-building every 50 miles or so  ).

sheepers.

QFT - 8 MK2 Cortina's at last count

If anyone is bored feel free to photoshop my engine. Im thinking about colours to paint which parts. Im thinking blue black and silver. I want to sand the very top of the tappet cover so you can see aluminium lines. Cant afford flash new extractors yet so was thinking of painting them silver. Im open to suggestions though.

Here it is again to save you trying to find it on my build up.

Wish I had photoshop so I can play. Is there a trial version I can download for free?

In regards to your engine colour, i think try and avoid silver, so just go black and your car colour blue. Kind of similar to what I did with my engine, I just painted everything with a spray can, saves paying people and way cheaper/easier than chroming.

Yea that one didnt last long so Im looking at getting some more. Maybe someone knows of another grinding pad just as good but cheaper or longer lasting?

Our other option was to get a whole heap of sandpaper pads for a dollar each but I dont think they would be nearly as good. Any suggestions?

The purple 3M Clean'n'strip discs you are using are the best for what you are doing but be VERY carefull not to distort any panel steel with them as is is very very easy to root a panel with one.

Paint stripper is the safest option so long as you get it all out of the seams.

Also - I notice your engine probably came out of an Escort
