It does have some scentific reasoning behind why it would work, so I guess thats one thing.

Aside from that I think its an awesome product. They are pretty safe because fit it to a new car and you have to wait ten years plus to see if its working. Fit it to and old car and they are covered, as they can say the rust begin to occur before their device was fitted.

These things have been used for years on metal structures as pointed out and they work in that application. Structures are grounded to the earth and cars aren't so I'm a wee bit dubious. Also if they did work you'd think they'd be well publisied in the old car scene.... I'm interested as you could build one for a 10th the price.

This is what a friend said:

"No. Galvanic protection does work, but those gizmos don't work on a car.

The problem is rust happens due to the residual stresses in the steel

stampings. The more residual stress in the metal, the greater its

elecronegativity, the tendency to rust. If you charge the whole car with

electrons, there remains variations in elecronegativity among the various

parts.

Sacrificial anodes and zinc coated steel are all examples of galvanic

protection that works."
