  1. I hope to get back to doing this project again. Just have to wait for myself to finish recovering from my accident I had.
  2. Man thats cool. Cant wait to see a vid of it racing
  3. Thats Not a GSR or 1400. Its a 1600 DL or GL coupe about 1979 I think?
  4. Well as it turned out the car never even stopped in Blenheim...was delivered to Picton Anyway - for another $187 it was delivered to Nelson, have it at home now. When I got quote for car transport the railway was the cheapest option. I did get told it had to be delivered to nearest yard. They would had stopped there if blenheim still had a rail yard. Only one line thru there now. They only deliver to main railway yards. Truck it the rest of the way. I dont even know if Kiakoura still has a yard? If thats the case they would pick up/ unload in Picton, Christchurch, Dunners etc
  5. What does easy wash have? I think they maybe have a steam cleaner? If not then it was a heated hot water blaster. If it is, Ive used it on a few of my cars. It swallowed about 3 two dollar coins. It did a good job. I kept car running so engine would dry off and knew it would keep running. Just make sure you dont point it derectly at electrical componets/electrical plugs. Thats what I did. Used it on my SVXs, Vortex, Legacy and 1400 and had no problems. Engine was all nice and clean afterwards. Never had any problems afterwards. I did soke the engine once and the engine died. I just waited for it to dry off and started it again
  6. Oh man that was such a land mark. They should had put it on a plint on display in a park in that area some where. There was another concrete boat in the opawa area aswell. It disapaired a few years ago.
  7. Looking good dude. Also thanks for the help with mine. Found out something is not right with the diff.
  8. ^^ Famous last words it seems. So, yeah turns out that head gasket was NOT the right one for this particular engine. The result was that the main oil galleries at the back of the head were not sealed, and oil ran right out of the engine. Unfortunately I didn't notice this and took it for a quick drive up the road. I then ordered the correct head gasket from England (of all places) and installed it. No more oil leak, but it seems the short drive with no oil pressure has had a disasterous effect on the bottom end. The engine now has a REALLY bad knock from what I assume would be the crank bearings.. So my plan of fixing it up and selling it off has now well and truly faceplanted and now with one week left in Auckland, and no intention of taking it with me to Palmy, I need to make a tough decision of what to do with it. I imagine I wouldn't get much in scrap for it, and I also don't really want to see it crushed - since that was the whole reason I bought it in the first place. SO. Does anyone have a place in their shed, and their hearts for this little girl? I'm open to offers, rego is on hold and apart from the bottom end, it's otherwise pretty good. (and has a new clutch and h/g) I would definitely keep it and see it through if we weren't moving.. breaks my heart. Also, FYI - Subaru Ace engines drop right in and are not especially rare. You should put it up on Clubsub site. Im sure some one on there mite be kean for it.
  9. Is Fort rubber still around in CHCH? They arnt down wordsworth st any more. Ive tried ringing both of there numbers. Phone gets redirected and no one pics up. Ive rung them quite afew times over the last month or two. Im was trying to find out how much it would cost to replace some rubber tourqe reaction rods. Thanks.
  10. Could you be allowed to do like 1 or 2 laps for for guys on old school scooter/moped lol
  11. Theres not much you can get new any more... CVs I think are the same as your sandy colour brumby. I checked with the CV shop and they will not order any more in due to them having to buy a minium of 1000 or was it 10,000 Cvs of the same model I can tell you that rear shocks are similar to a suzuki off roader of some sort... I brought some gabrile ones for the 1974 1400 DL. If you need to get some custom parts made I could be kean for some extras to be made for my GSR too It is in running condison but not road legal due to the rust.
  12. Looked like so much fun I wanted to go but I hav'nt finished the rabbit and didnt have another scooter to use.
  13. Who can a Recomend a good Sand blaster in Christchurch? One who does a good job but is has a good price. Only after some smaller stuff to be done at the moment. Thanks
  14. That leone only had 50,000km on the clock.. I was kean but I had checked it out a few weeks before the auction. It had been left out side for to long tho.. rust bubbling around the windscreen and a few other places. Its a pitty the NZ assembled subs of the time werent rust proofed proply. They just sprayed by hand the places where they could reach. They installed a propper rust proofing plant about 18 months before the closed the assembly plant.
