When I was trying to get things to fit in my centre console I ended up finding a centre console from a 1990 Mitsubishi galant. It bolted straight in and the gearbox hole lines up as well. It also fits modern sounds and things better then the old escort ones. It looks kinda like it fits in with the design style of the mk2 but I'm sure it will look just as good in a mk1?
