Spencer
nope will still need assembly which if you can read and solder its pretty easy tuning it should put you off more than assembly
isnowi
Have you any specific experience with the MS? i'm quite intrigued by it, but get the feeling that there is a lot of trial and error involved with setup and tuning.

lowlancer
Haha yeah true that. What's the deal with water lines? Have you got an online gallery of your buildup?
isnowi
http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=5133&highlight= some shots on here of what i did, basically i used a datsun 180b thermostat housing that sandwiches a 10mm adaptor plate to the head, 2 of the 3 botls go through the thermo hoouasing and the adaptor plate, the 3rd goes through just the adaptor plate. This aims the water pipe down towards the starter motor (had to add an air bleed here to prevent air pockets) off the thermo housing a 90 degree rubber hose runs arouund, underneath the inlet manifold and into a remote thermostat housing (no thermostat in it ,but has water temp sensor for gauge and ecu), from this it is a simple right angle bend up to the radiator top pipe. I think the pictures on the build thread are of the setup before i popped the HG and top hose. I'll see if i can snap some more this week. lowlancer
Appreciate it. Been browsing the zero g forums, fucking good info there, and see you're a member If I can find a 4G64 I might hit it, especially from a van due to being RWD already. Plus more power etc

treggo
Honda firebird are another popular one dude.
lowlancer
Sweet. What typre are they? Like do they even get called sidedraughts or whatever? I wouldn't have a clue I know about jetting and I know what's involved with manifolds etc but I just don't know shit bout bike carbs.
treggo
Don't think they are considered sidedraughts because they sit on about a 45 degree angle. Have you read the article on the bogg brothers that was posted in the bike carb thread? thats pretty handy.
lowlancer
Yeah read that Just wanna see if I can avoid R1 or similar carbs due to the wank factor pushing prices up. My old man reckons he can get shit from china but I'd rather not buy sight unseen
treggo
Yea, I think R1s are just pre wank factor here. One good thing about them is they are probably the most tried and tested etc
lowlancer
Yeah Just bought some 32mm CV carbs off tardme for like 50 bucks. Dont expect much of em but will be good to tear down
cute wee gem
Flatslides are where its at, more expensive though usually. Keihin and Mikuni seem to be the used mostly for bike carbed cars 32's wouldn't be all bad as most bike carbs don't have tiny chokes (at least from what I've seen) where as most 40mm webers etc have 32-36mm chokes anyway
lowlancer
By the looks of it, CVs are more standard. Might be able to use them but meh, cheap as, good to learn off Might be able to drill out the jets and having a bigger choke size should help
RWD4G62NZ
A mate of mine runs an OpenWheeler with a hipo N/A 4AGE and he used quad carbs from a Honda CBR1100. Think they call it the blackbird. He's getting 200+hp from it at nearly 9000 revs. The thing positivly screams!
