peteretep
a guy i know who has a race escort runs a 4.1, he has run most ratios and a lsd falcon diff but he said that the 4.1 is the best and that a falcon diff is too heavy and probably excessive anyway What type of racing does he do? he does track racing like pukekohe

RT
the best diff for an escort would probably be a baby Atlas axle with a 4.1 ratio and a Quaife ATB LSD unit.
atropine
well ratio depends on use.. gerbox.. allsorts.. but yeah.. go the atlas or Quaife .. get some $$ though
phillip@premierauto.co.nz
the atlas getting to old now, second hand parts are all worn out and new is soooo expensive. put in a 3.5;1 ratio on a quafe atb lsd unit and crake test the axles, wont have a problem with it. esky boi
Which is actually not true anyway, there are different ratios and they're mostly under 4:1 ( I thinkonly the wagon is 4.1 )..
Bistro
and I think some had 3.89 in the 1300s. Not sure though.
Burntrubber
Falcon borg warner sounds good to me as well I'm doing it for my gem (commy LSD turned out to be a crock of poo). Got the housing for $60 disks on it also and a LSD center for $180. I'm a fitter welder so I'm shortening it myself. These diffs are also used in VK onwards Comadores so their common and cheap compared to other options like hilux.
