pay the money and put a pedal box from palmside in, run a mininum of two piston calipers on the front, 4 piston would be better, EBC pads and motul fliud, ok for escort, with drum brakes on the rear, mk2 sport or capri drums all good with no booster, only one race car we look after runs a booster setup.

this is not a race meeting, it is a sprint meeting, wich means there is about 10 cars on the track at once spread out in about 30 second intervills doing about 6 or 10 laps then the next group goes out. it is good for testing or learning, any cars are welcome, you dont have to have a ford, but you do have to have a minimum of a club sport licence, can be purchased from motorsport nz, check out the motorsports web site for licence fees and application forms.

help me rebuild a sierra engine
phillip@premierauto.co.nz replied to mk2_escort's topic in Tech Talk
the best thing when building any engine is cleanness. make sure everthing is clean and a tidy, one piece of dirt under the bearings when they go in will distroy them, use a good quality assembly lube and set the cam up properly, you can run 40 mm sidys and extractors with a standard cam set properly with adjustable cam wheel very well. -

the cam must contact the rocker in the middle of the pad aswell or the two of them will wear away very fast, this must be checked with ground camshafts.

the atlas getting to old now, second hand parts are all worn out and new is soooo expensive. put in a 3.5;1 ratio on a quafe atb lsd unit and crake test the axles, wont have a problem with it.
