  1. What about something like this, with a u-turn at the end, so it's looping back through itself? http://www.borla.com/products/proxs_dual_indual_out.html Not sure how hard one would be to get hold of though, the NZ distributor has pretty limited stock, and they're a bit spendy. I'm just a huge fanboi now I've got two on my MA61, they just sound so good.
  2. S-Cargos are awesome, I used to hoon one of them back in the day (was our parts/service dept runaround), I'd love to see one with an E15T transplant. The only problem is they're a little short on legroom, and my knees used to be up against the dash.
  3. Everyone will laugh at me if I bring my work car..... but hey why not!
  4. I'd have liked to make this one to check out a meet that isn't holycraptheresalotofcarshere busy, but I'm waiting for a couple of parts to arrive to fix a fuel issue I have, and I doubt they'll get here in time for me to get the car ready.
  5. Well, that was my OS meet cherry popped. Plenty of cool cars, and good to meet some of y'all. In honesty it was a little bit daunting with the sheer number of cars and people. As a newb not sure what my 2 cents is worth, but I'm with Sheepers up there, FB invites are a bit of a recipe for disaster I think. Like mass text messages about parties back in the day. Really disappointed about the mess, cheers Tara for cleaning up. One would think that people would be adults and clean up after themselves, but I guess not.
  6. Last time I was at Calu Burrito I shouted a round of quesadillas for all the boys on a stag party.... Was pretty good I recall.... But that may've been the fact it was 2am and I was smashed...

  8. Here're my thoughts, and I'm no pro on exhaust stuff. I'd agree with 2" being fine, probably oversized for a 1300, but still more than adequate for a 1600. Or go with the diameter of the collector/end pipe of the extractors. How much difference in performance and economy would be minimal. Don't be too surprised if your economy drops because you're giving it more welly cos it sounds better! For mufflers I'm a fan of straight through mufflers, which probably are a little louder, so you need more/bigger mufflers, but they tend to have a nice smooth tone rather than being harsh. I have Borla mufflers, but they're expensive. You can probably get away with a hot dog/bullett/glass pack/"resonator" up front and as large a muffler at the back you can fit. If you go with straight through I'd recommend using as big a muffler up front (and rear) as you can. For rear drive/longitudinal cars a flexi joint isn't strictly necessary, I wouldn't stress about it too much, as long as the system is well supported. Do a bunch of googling and take what you read with a pinch of salt. I guess the best people to ask/refer to are fellow esky owners (which I am not), mr camo_78 up there seems pretty happy with his, and he's presumably near you, perhaps check his stuff out!
  9. Oh, and you can get replacement cases too (or at least you could), so that may be an option too.
  10. Sounds like a code alarm (rectangular remote with two square buttons?), do a bit of googling. They're still around, overseas, but they stopped selling in NZ in the early 2000's. there are suppliers in the states that can supply, just I think it can be a bit tricky identifying which one is for your car. I assume it's a nz new Bluebird? Otherwise disregard all of the above.
  11. Hopefully, if the weather isn't too bad I should be at this one, my first OS meet!
  12. Ned, I've got a couple of old engine building manuals that you can have. They're not so much about modifiying, more about rebuilding and maintenance by the look, but may be a good start? I haven't really used them at all, they've sat in a cupboard at work for the last 5 years, I "inherited" from a predecessor. Chuck me a PM with your address and ph number and I can probably drop them off to you.
  13. I'm not going to make this one (waiting on brake parts), but I would be keen as mustard if they do it next year.....
  14. Fantastic, well done! The first vehcile to cross the simpson desert http://patrolheritage.nissan.com.au/#!/generation/two/simpson-crossing
  15. Sorry, on further though, that's more QG engines than qr.
  16. If it's a QR# engine it's possibly a stretched timing chain I wouldn't expect a coil to throw a check light, but most likely produce an intermittent miss. But I am no technician, just a lowly parts guy/probably don't know what I'm talking about.
  17. I don't have measurements sorry, but to look at it looks the same as MA61 to me. I have one, but it's not for sale. It's stored up in my ceiling, I'll get approx measurements off it in the weekend if I get time. the 24mm thickness sounds familiar. Also, there is a whiteline adjustable swaybar kit for the MA61 that you might like to consider... http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=BTF76Z
  18. Back in the day Autoliv used to manufacture belts for NZ assemmbled Nissans, so later on once they failed WOF's for worn webbing or that we used to send them to them to be re-webbed. Not sure if they still can do it (I was dealing with them 10+ years ago), but they might be worth a shot? http://www.zenbu.co.nz/entry/1101731-autoliv-new-zealand-ltd http://www.autoliv.com/ProductsAndInnovations/PassiveSafetySystems/Pages/Seatbelts/default.aspx
  19. Signarama do some local decals that we use, they're multi-coloured printed ones like that http://www.signarama.co.nz/. We do fair quantiites at a time, but I think they'd probably be open to small quantites.... perhaps hit them up.
  20. Cool project man, such a beautifully proportioned coupe!
  21. Wow, I'm keen as, I'm sure I'll have the MA61 on the road by then, but if not I'd love to passenger with someone.
  22. If you aren't after you've seen a Mustang and Vampire blasting around the sky you'll never be!
  23. Yeah, I'm not sure. I thought the reason they were so expensive to store was because they were keeping them close to airworthy, with the whole deal for the place in the US on the go and all..... I'm sure the Warbirds will get it up and running eventually. Awesome little planes.
  24. Wow, wait until you hear those Merlins in the Spitfire and the Mustang, it's like nothing else...... I can't even imagine what the Mosquito could be like. I love the Vampires too, they're a cool little plane. Does anyone know if the Skyhawk is flying? Oh, and yeah, I'm keen as to go!
