  1. Print off some pictures and approach the local automotive shops and see if you can stick them up. Those bikes will be sitting in some ones garage.
  2. Easy, remove what's holding the old one in then repeat for fitting the new one. Start bleeding brakes at the LR, then RR, then LF and finish on RF. Job done and now onto this noisey tappets.
  3. Im pretty jealous. I seen this come up and looked away.
  4. Yeah get 13s. Have you considered a 1ggze? My 71 has one and it's pretty sweet set up.
  5. That photo always cracks me up and you did a pretty good job for teaching your self. Shame you guys didnt cover the seats as now they are full of burn holes haha. Kayne prices each repair with prep and products used which is prefect for tracking what is being spent. He is giving me a very good deal and has other work to do so my car can chill while I save money.
  6. Went back to Wellington last week and caught up with Kayne. Im stoked and the next stage will be the previous repairs around the windscreen and some little dozzles in the passenger door. Inside just needs a clean up and etch primed. And this is my favorite from the photos and threads found online.
  7. Some of the worst rust in the heater area is nearing completion. Im pretty happy and will be in Wellington this weekend so will stop in and see Kayne.
  8. Whats the GX71 like, any parts available? Im after the front chrome trim on the bonnet.
  9. Finished!! This is a word I have never heard you say.
  10. Gutted no Hanmer for me as will be in the UK. Penis titty balls.
  11. Damn it. Im in QCR, I can grow a beard and not a rapist butttt I have a welsh girl friend.
  12. Been a while with a few things going on including losing my job for attending OS nats but progress on the car is happening. These are the latest update photos received from Kayne regarding the heater duct area and a couple old ones from the rear section. I have also been looking into intakes and have found some thing already set up with 6 throttles so will do some more research and see if it is a good route to go. Discuss here //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/30893-crustys-jzx31/ Pukana, bleh. Before After Before After
  13. Oh gutted. I remember rolling in that when it came into nz, such a tidy car. Nathan do you have the details for the chaser coupe as maybe they could be passed onto rups and keep that seagull al away lol.
  14. Such a sweet car. Get the manual swap sorted and I have some parts if you need them.
  15. Theres a secret mix that not many people know about so il share. Take 20ml of oil from 15 different cars that havnt run in at least 5 years, now these cars must be no further than 5 metres apart as environmental conditions must be similar. Mix the samples together with the skin off one banana and add this mix to the effected engine. Bananas can be brought at the diary and you should be fine with the rest.
  16. Try back the gear box bolts off until the engine can spin freely. Then tighten again slowly while checking that the engine can still spin. Ive had this problem and recently had it again with the engine on the floor. It might be the location of the shaft and the spigot.
  17. This happened today. I knew there was rust under here but had no idea how bad it was, so I went to Kaynes and removed every thing to access the damage. I was actually expecting far worse so Im pretty happy. Its kind of like the rust just stopped one day. A couple little bits to sort here Annnnd this little dozzle. Bad, yes. Fixable, totally and the rest of every thing under here is sweet and another from the drivers side
  18. So not much has happened with this but I do drive it way more than I should. Did a week in Wellington then drove it to Christchurch where I take it to work some times. I have been working away and having holidays so this will be a summer project. Looking to space the front out 20mm.
  19. My Toyota is moving along. Kayne has been trying to find a rear screen rubber so he can remove the glass and inspect for rust. The plan was to get the rust repairs sorted then get it running with a throttle body manifold, ecu etc. I am now starting to think panel and paint then ship the car south for drive line as I have spoken to some one having a manifold made towards mid 2014 so planning on working with him.
  20. So the re-power went well and it is noticeably faster at high Rpm. Future plans are seat and tuned expansion pipe. We also sold the car so this will be my daily until I sort a vehicle. Sorry Christchurch but you will have to put up with 11k redline at 630am during the week.
  21. There's some thing about shit breaks, road tyres and to much speed that is awesome. The rail trail got me amping riding with Chris and feeks. Hoping the 80 goes hard and will get a rebuild with some mild mods to carb and new exhaust.
