Bling
I started fixing some rust like that on my old Corona. I stopped grinding the paint back when I got half way to the other end of the car... Sold it for parts. It's only metal though, if you have the time, patience and skills, it's fixable. Miss that car, I just lacked the space and skills to fix it at the time. I didn't find the rust until after I had shelled out $$ for less rusty bolt on parts. Sold it to someone on here filled with all the spares for cheap. That's my shitty story

SOHC
My car has annoying rust in the corners of the front doors, I have welded about 5 other patches into this door, I painted everything with AP10 and then fish oiled it. I did a shitty job do thees things work? I am getting more rust in the rear wheel arch and round the rear side windos
flyingbrick
Nope, those electronic units are absolute garbage when used as advertised. I believe they CAN be effective on boats where the whole vessel is in salt water ( like how sacrificial metal blocks are bolted to outboard motors for effective protection but won't work when bolted to ya car) I hear some of those rust inhibiting plastic stick things can work well. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volatile_corrosion_inhibitor

Bling
Is the other side of Auckland considered local? If not, post an area that meets your requirements? Assuming you're even in Auckland itself, you didn't specify.
