jjerm
Hi there, I have a mk1 escort that we have done some rust repair work on and part of that we replaced the drivers and passenger floors in doing so the original mount points have been removed. Is it now just a case of bolting the seats through with some appropriate sized plates and 10mm bolts? What does it need legally?
anglia4
I'm pretty sure you can buy specific seat bolt mounting plates. Perhaps talk to your nearest certifier, he should be able to sell you some. Otherwise maybe you can get them from partmaster or something? flyingbrick
I was surprised to see belt mounting plates being sold at SCA yesterday. Edit. Oops, seats http://www.lvvta.org.nz/ has everything you need. It's just doubler plates of a certain size. One top and one bottom of your floor and plug welded together. cletus
the only thing to catch you is if you use doubler plates to LVV specs = will need cert, as its a modified seat anchorage if you can repair back to original = no cert needed not really a problem if you need to cert it for other things, but would add expense if you dont need to cert it for anything else.
flyingbrick
Would he need a repair cert though? Technically speaking
cletus
if dereg, yes. if reg live, then no, although wof inspector can ask for a report from a panelbeater if theres any doubt on the repairs
