Fuel system help!

So time has come for me to splash out on fuelling for the escort.

Im thinking of using a either a bosch 044 or a Walbro 255. Whats the general consensus of these pumps in regard to flow and noise?

The set up im thinking of using is

TANK------>LIFT PUMP------>SURGE TANK------>EFI PUMP----->FUEL RAIL----->FUEL PRESSURE REG----->RETURN LINE.

Is it better to run the return line to the tank or the surge tank?

Cheers

what motor are you using? you should just go tank>high pressure pump>fuel rail>reg>tank at least at first IMO. I am running this setup now, I have been around hamptons without issue down to about 1/4 tank. Escort sedans have a reasonable tank as standard due to being vertical

most carb tanks are bad for efi,  most don't have any baffles, since not relying on constant pressure and carb bowl acts as mini surge tank .    agree about not needing to go surge tank .    a good baffle setup will do pretty well.    unless you want to use every last drop of fuel at race speeds, then go surge tank

If you don't mind a surge tank, run that option.
You'll have piece of mind that you're not going to run her dry around the sweeper at hamptons.

And with an FE3 you know you'll want a turbo sometime :D (like me).

My 2 cents reckons it's easier to set up a surge than a baffle/s.

China 044 is no problems, mine doesn't get hot, flows heaps, and isn't too noisy, most importantly it is $40 to your door hahah

^^ Sweet!! I should get one for my turbo FG falcon running 20 psi boost.
