i dont know if i can get it road legal if could that would be awesome!!!

nah no choke hooked up but it can idle long enough to get pretty warm. i have a feeling its the points i couldn't see them moving at all when i went to clean them?

yeah factory airbox would look very ugly. do you know who or where sells parts or just has spares for these thing?

Also just found out that the frame is a honda qa50! sweet.

so after leaving it for abit i went over it again and had a look at it and it seems the points are just staying closed any clue on why this is happening, im useless with this stuff never had to do it before.

flywheel should have top dead centre marks so no need for a DTI lol..

set to top dead centre, and set points gap to what ever/business card.

don't underestimate what a good hard run can do for a 2 stroke engine that's not been run for a while. don't read that as thrash its tits off though.

then you set them to crack open at the F (fire) positon on the flywheel,

you can see when they crack open with a multimeter or test light. I really don't know any scooter mechanics that include a DTI in their tool box (though I would love one for other reasons) they are just a bit overkill.

but in saying that, when they open at the fire position, once the flywheel gets to TDC, they should be open at the pre determined points gap.
