Did you get your vibration fixed? Was it the diff?

In my Mk1 cortina the o2 sensor pick up on the extractors were hitting on the engine x-member and a bolt from the g-box was touching against that x-member to. Create clearance vibration gone.

Just putting it out there for other ideas or areas to check if the diff wasnt the problem

Yeah it was the diff got all new bearings in on the friday of the nationals. Vibration gone but the diff wasnt set up correctly so it still had a wine . So it's away back in tomorrow to get that fixed. Oh and we bolted the bike carbs on in the weekend made a big difference to the way it goes still some issues to sort but getting there.

So far I'm on 1.6mm I just move the needle jets down but its the wrong way going to move them back up where do you have your set? 1 being the bottom 5 at the top. What did you do for air cleaners? I'm trying to find some at the moment. I want to put air cleaners on before i go any further.

I think mine is set at 2? Its up too much if at idle you see fuel erupting out around the jet

Because i have a strut brace, it makes air filters really hard, so I dont run anything. But guys either run individual filters which are generally considered to be detrimental to performance, or ITG filters which are quite expensive ~$300 and you have to cut and drill the holes to suit the carbs, which dont really have a good method of being attached to the carbs. Best option really is to make an airbox if you feel the need to have a filter IMO

Sweet I have mine on 2 now but its running real crap up till about 4000 rpm before it was in the middle and ran well from 3000 rpm but spat unburnt fuel out at around 2000 rpm so I'm going to try it on 4 which is near the top and see how it runs in the morning. On the motor way I'm hardly using the pedal to keep it at 100km so I hope it will be cheaper on the long runs testing it this weekend taking it to the coromandel for a drive.

As for filters I'm trying to find some after market motor bike ones there are plenty of options but have also read that they affect performance.

Found the issue pulled the first cover off and the clip had poped out so one of the neddles wasnt in place correctly. Hopefully the air cleaners will be here today. And I think i need to save some $$$ and get it tuned correctly. Any one know of any resonably priced places in auckland that can do oldschool well?

Paul Burns runs Marua Automotive and came highly recommended to me. He fixed Clark Procter's race cars for may years. Very happy with the tune he did for me. 579 3315, 166 Marua Rd. Or for the full dyno treatment a mate with a V8 race commodore uses Protune, 18A Joval Place, Wiri, 912 9912. Cheers
