Beaver
hey all. im thinking of gettin the complete exhaust system replaced on the hunter to let things breath a bit better. what size pipe should i look at getting? at the mo its just standard engine (1725cc). i dont quite get the whole back pressure thing but i know that bigger is not always better. i was thinking maybe 1.75" or 2"? that sound about right? also, how much should i expect to be paying for a full system? cheers
RT
2" $200 - 300 not incl extractors
Beaver
sweet thanks man. i hear of people running it under the diff instead of up and over it? does this just reduce resistance?
MACKAZ
Stops the diff interfering with your exhaust on low low cars
Raizer
Stops the diff interfering with your exhaust on low low cars + it often lets you have a much straighter exhaust as well.

HUNTD
yup thats me on the beach. just got one dynomax superturbo something or rather muffler and straight pipe out the back. sounds better in real life but thats the only thing i have with sound. you prolly could go 2" but i wanted it louder than standard but not like BLAAAH sounding. Gaz
2" and a decent muff would be sweet. Under diff is prob cheaper too as its half the bends to make.
kyteler
2" and a decent muff would be sweet. Your missus is a lucky lady. Also, I wouldn't bother going to 2" on a Hunter. 1¾" would be more than adequate. Make it go above the diff.
RT
It is if you plan on working the engine a bit.. of doing a transplant. You'll find you want a 2" eventually so I wouldn't bother doing it any smaller. Make sure you have a good muff.
Testament
you can only really go with under diff if the suspeion travel is small. i.e. the distance the exhaust is below the diff must be greater than the amount the diff drops at full suspension travel.
