DavidTheCreator
get a measuring tape and measure your diff and try and find a comercial diff (hilux, l200....) thats the same lenth, strong as fuck and should save you some coin as you wont need to have it shortened. remember the intranet is your friend
mikuni
It all depends on what motor you put in, what you want the diff to handle and how much coin you have to spend. If you have a little bit and want something good you could look at shortening a hilux and getting that modified to fit. Cheaper option would be a piazza, which only needs minor mods to fit. Or depending on what gemini diff you are using currently, you may be able to put a piazza or borg warner lsd diff head into it (apparantly). pm sent also
Guest sexychevette
Where are all these bloody geminis coming from! You must be making some decent power if you need a stronger diff. Ive heard the gemini ones can handle abit of power... spesh when locked
CUL8R
Arent they Borg Warner Items?? CBF having a look at my own for any casting or plates Have been told they are similar to a Commodore / Sunbird diff (probably the 4cyl ones) , but most probably bullshit... Cheers,Chris
zep
Some Hilux diffs don't need to be shortened. Mine was onle 20mm wider so was still good.

Gaz
Some Hilux diffs don't need to be shortened. Mine was onle 20mm wider so was still good. Yup as I have found there are soo many differant hilux axle lengths, housing lengths, drum widths, and ratios. So there are heaps of ones out there to source through and find. I found that I can use one in an escort without shortening by using FWD offset wheels on rear and some kind of disc conversion of your choice. pies
um... has anyone else noticed this is in completely the wrong place? or am i on crack again...
mikuni
um...has anyone else noticed this is in completely the wrong place? Yeah, I was just posting untill a mod found it. The fact that 2 admins and a mod posted also is pretty funny. Anyway, its not thaat much to get it shortened is it? I'd rather do that than have to run gay offset rims on the rear. 20mm wider is pretty good though. You could get away with that and still run dirty offset I think. Jase
the gemini diff carrier is the same as the commodore however, gemi diffs are 23 spline axles 4 cyl commie 25 spline 6 cyl 27 toyota lsd normally 32, the piazza diffs lsd are hens teeth dont bother single spinner piazza diffs are stronger than the gemi but still snap axles, bonus to the piazza diffs is the torque tube set up otherwise a control arm or for link must be made, mcdonald racing does the control arms ex aus for 550, the triangulated 4 link is 800, have done a few bits an pieces but an 8 3/4 ford lsd is on the cards for me with the four link
Gaz
8 3/4 ford lsd is on the cards for me with the four link I have one of them. Its shortened for an escort already. Might be similar width to vaux. 4 sully
