cool as! come a long way, that's for sure.

man, sympathise with not wanting to go too low for practicality, but damn, you get so tempted....

you wont have a problem over most stz, you're prolly used to driving the ms55 you used to have over shit, and wagon has shorter wheelbase...

my crown's not outlandishly low by any means, and it scrapes over shit like a bitch, you learn where you can go fairly smartly. sparkle rolls @ 80mm ground clearance in 5-0 FWIW.

in summary, lower please :)

yeah i know...

first of all... dont want bigger wheels... dad is trying to sort me out sum mini lites ... 15's with dish.... but they still wont fill up my guards

will eventually go lower.... not that high on my list of things i want to do tho aye...

if anyone can come up with some SERIOUS ways of lowering it, and you have all details then pm me and i will consider doing it soon. but im just sick of everyone going on about stuff and not really being much help.

are ke36 guards much bigger then ke26 guards? as mine are same as bens 25's and im sure he only has 14's in his and they looked mean/filled guards up, tho his was low his rear end looks very similar height of ground as yours.

Pull front struts out. Get top cup off. Measure how much the springs come out top where hat usually site. Tell archers to compress springs this much. That way you wont have to machine stut which is an extra $50-100 cash job. Its cheaper to take springs in out of strut. Used to be $70 for two to compress.

Springtown on Ellis St in Frankton will do that exact thing. They are quite good. I got them to taper and retemper my cut springs and my flatty got them to compress and reset some coils and rear leaves.

They generally do a pretty good job but don't usually get it exactly as low as you want, which is a difficult thing to judge anyway when you only take them leaves and not the vehicle.

You can pull both sets out, take them in, say you want them compressed for the coils and reset for the leaves 2 inches and they will do it all for less than around $200 I would say.

And then put it on the minilites and you would have an even awesomer car.

Reset leaves when I got a quote here in Welly was $300 alone.

Yuh, anyway TRD, if ya wanna do it cheap as poss then run compressed front and blocks rear. Get that done for $130 all up which is damn cheap.

Or do it semi propper and run flattened leaves and compressed springs. Or do it proper as and run custom front's and custom rear leaf.

Dont do it free tho and cut springs & flip leaves. :evil:

Its already lowered. Looks like 2 inch blocks in rear so you wouldn't put more in. Ubolts already sit really low. Will need reset styles at the back.

^$30 compressed coils sounds dodgy. After heating them and compressing them they need to bake them to temper the material and get the strenght back into it. Thats what costs the money and without that, they could snap.

Mine in the Escort have been sweet for years, even took a few little jumps/big pot holes etc. I'm not sure how he does them though

Its $90 to get a pair of leaves reset at the local springmaker/blacksmith here and $30 for a pair of coils -at least last time i was there

I wouldn't let him near my car if you paid me, had him try to do the springs in my KE30 years ago and ended up going out of town then he did the leaves in the back of my ute before I bought it and they ended up being thrown in the bin and I had to go out of town again.

My fronts are all good, but i think i had them done back when Paul Cooper worked there. Was about to drop my new leaves down there next week :?

Mine just had a curve put in behind the diff, fucked up the pinion angle badly. It almost worth freighting them to Rotorua or Auckland to avoid taking the risk. I'll lt you know next time I'm heading that way if you want to save freight one way.

Does she or anyone still have some sedan leafs for the back? They will make it lower. The wagons mustve had stiffer to carry shit. As you prob know its pretty comman with wagons and utes.
