    PAINT THREAD

Also do yourself a favour and buy a cheap da from hardware store hahaha, I bought my 5" aeg one from bunnings for like $100, and it has to be pretty close to my most used tool. But yea that looks like the paint reacting from what I can see on my phone. So yea probably solvent left on it, are you using a tack rag?
  2. The re registering a vehicle thread, 4 threads below this, is probably the place to look, it is all covered in there.
  3. IMO, the $100-$250 price range is pretty dodgy, I dont think you get that nicer finish compared to the extra cost over a $50 gun, and they are miles off the finish from a $300+ gun. When it comes time to paint something over here I'm going to buy an Iwata w400 off eBay, they work great and at ~$300 they are hard to beat. They are what I used to spray the alfa and the lotus, and neither of them got any colour sanding and the paint looks mint straight off the gun.
  4. My 2c is get the best ECU you can pony up for and wire it in specifically for the car/motor.
  5. Yup as Tom said 13.5 works good, I used some 400 grit in a bit of 6mm rod with a slit cut in the end in a hand drill to get the surface finish good, other than that it worked sweet.
  6. Whaddaya talkin' 'bout Jonesy? Cam obviously wants to put slide throttles on the landy, who could blame him with such a magnificent beast! Oh lol, Na OMS, I am all about solder, I even made a post mocking the antisolder brigade in my Alfa thread when I replaced the motor/ converted from genny to alternator.
  7. Personally I would rather use universal air aero sport strut bags. Not relying on your struts and shocks to be air tight seems like a good idea to me. They are cheaper too.
  8. Roman, just get an aliexpress tomei one, they are sweet and not that big.
  9. I approve of all efi conversions on old cars OMS, you know this. Even the worst programmable efi is better than carbs. Good jerb Ned, do a skid cunt.
  10. Then yea a cheap gun will be ok.you aren't going to get awesome results with a gun in this price range so I doubt it matters which one you get.
  11. I bought a $50 one off trademe and it is excellent for shit I dont care about. But I have got to the point now that I can get a pretty good finish with it. What do you want to spray?
  12. Use a 2k high build primer, it will go straight onto bare metal without a problem. That paint looks ok, but I would try your luck at the local panel beaters as I'm pretty sure I did better than that price, and they will probably get you better paint anyway. Paint is one of those things that can make your life can become a whole bunch better just by spending a few extra dollars.
  13. Man, this thing is so sweet. I love the build threads on these contraptions.
  14. Lol what? 10:1 is turbo territory this day in age, surely you can do better than that?
  15. Watch out! They will team up and conspire against you, they don't like round eyes!
  16. They are m5 wheels aren't they? They look rad, just need slam.
  17. I would cut it to length and thread both ends, and make up a threaded sleeve that joins the two together, that way you dont need heat. Alternatively, welding a sleeve over the top of the joint would be my next option.
  18. I like this a lot, good job Danger. Turbo the 2.5 please.
  19. If it has double valve springs then most likely it won't have valve stem seals, the inner spring takes up the space previously occupied by the vss. What cam is in it?
  20. Man good work Beave!
  21. If the tune is good you dont need an oxy sensor, to the point were people who pay for tunes and dont do it themselves would have exactly 0 benefit of having one.
  22. Just bullshit them that it is an aftermarket ECU, the gm ones practically are.
  23. That's not true KK, you have about 50 km to bed in the rings before you glaze the bores. And yes keep running in oil in it for the first 200km or so, if you have hooned it properly then it should be run in by then.
  24. The only way to run in a motor is maximum attack, go for a late night drive some where and use plenty of throttle.
  25. If there is any thing in the bores I would try clean it up with scotchbrite and crc, if there is any pitting hone it, and if that doesn't work get a new one or resleave it.
