étude "Michael0008" B6D to BPT to KFZE to KLZE
jakesae101 replied to michael0008's topic in Other Projects
That was Dan aka 'flannel's car, he built it nearly 10 years ago, was a seriously nice little car that one. I did a tiny bit of work on the original build of Dan's BPTPWR. Just found out this week that it's on blocks and being sold as parts. LAME. We have spies everywhere..... yea so if anyone wants to rescue it i have his details what happened from memory he was sacked from his job then he was trying to sell it for ages then i think it slowly started to be parted out as he needed the money with no job -
it is possible and can be done but not so legal and if caught im pretty sure nzta cancel the regos on both cars and cant be re regoed ever

so I thought I may aswell put a project thread up . I swapped the car for my ae85 that i had it was stock as a rock on steelies then i was like oh ill go get some 17s because big wheels are cool ( i know better now ) then the modifying bug came back along as i started getting back into motorsport again and its grown from there did a few events with it pretty much stock then i started fiddling with suspension by chucking a set of trd coilovers in the back with some 4kg springs then i started getting a bit more serious and got some track tyres for the front and started going back to 14s then i got really sick of having a 1 wheeler peeler and single spinning everywhere so in went the ae101 lsd box and driveshafts then i put a custom 185mm pulley to wont the boost up to just over 1 bar on a good day then i added a fuel controller (similar to a apexi safc) wiring was a bit of a mess behind the dash raised the gear shift up with just some threaded rod did some more events got some front coilovers in and i pretty much stick with 14s these days i have some volk/rays superfine 15s that are 3 peice that i ill one day re furbish i also did some gravel in it before i upped the boost and put a lsd in it and managed to equal my mates time in his old rally car we used to race ive now removed all the sound deadening in the car also and fixed some rust in it here and there it pretty much has no interior bar seats part of the center console and the dash and door cards plans for it are to cage it and race it (then again i have been planning to put a cage in it for ages ) and maybe one day turbo it ive done alot more to it than whats here i just cant remember it all or have photos for it all i also have like 6 sets of wheels for it and alot of spares

i used to get funny looks when i went to repco to get gasket paper they would allways say we can get you the gasket used to use a small ball pein hammer round the edge or whatever i needed to make allways worked and the ball side was good for doing bolt holes -
i had a baby atlas in my mk1 never blew it up and it was with a really worked n/a pinto

if there is garage space i may be keen as no garage at my current place sucks big time
-
get a plate lsd and be done with it and get it set for 1.5 way it will be a bit more predictable than being 2 way . for serious track work that's the only thing id use . the standard viscous lsd in toyotas are ok (i have one in my supercharged trueno) but not as responsive as a plate type
-
i have to admit that is pretty fucking awesome
-
yea never had any issues with wrx seats i can still do it even in full buckets (given i go have to release the 4 pt harness to do it )

what about tapping some threads to them and bolting them from the top so then you wouldn't have any issues bolting and unbolting
