  1. Apparently it was spotted 10am on Sunday outside a liquor store with no plates, unfortunately the police aren't too interested
  2. Thanks Guys, I think its on the usual stolen car facebook pages but not "classic cars and wrecks of new zealand" so I've suggested they list it there as well. This sort of shit really grinds my gears, my motorbike got nicked about 6 months ago (despite being a non runner) they left behind a tyre pump and a vape - police didn't even come out and check for finger prints or anything.
  3. A friend of mine has had her 82 Honda Civic KU8861 stolen from a locked garage in Woolston (also took a 1992 champagne coloured Nissan Terrano rego ZU5858) would appreciate it if everyone kept an eye out for it (its an absolute minter)
  4. used to work at Rhodes, looks like they are hire pool now though
  5. Not much to add that hasn't been said already. But keep up the good work - you've got an awesome space there
  6. TIG seems to be the consensus. Now to work out exactly where I want the brackets and get it done. Thanks for your help gentlemen
  7. When the bracket is fixed to the motor its screws into a larger plate which is fixed to the firewall (all the fan and half of the motor is behind the firewall is the ventilation ducting) hope that makes sense
  8. Hi All, I've been pottering away at this for over a year now basically making up some replacement heater motors for the Jag. I've basically got everything done but I'm a little hesitant when it comes to attaching the mounting bracket to the motor. I reckon this can't be welded due to the electrical stuff inside the motor (theres two big half doughnut magnets glued inside the circular housing - I might be able to remove the rest of the innards) I had been planning on epoxying it but wasn't sure I'd be able to get a good key on both parts (or if it would stand up to weight / momentum of the fans running). Keen for any suggestions....
  9. looks like a beaut day, I'll have a trawl around for a few hours today - might pop in and say hi
  10. Don't worry I think the range went up to 200 - 220 around town with a new carb on it
  11. Your Jag reminds me of the improvements made to the Quadrajet on my Jags old V8. Choke plate removed and holes drilled through the secondaries plates. Used to get 120km out of a 50L tank
  12. Lovely motor
  13. I've got some lying around if you still need them....
  14. Opps missed last night - and i was just sitting on the couch too
  15. Looks like a break in the resistance wire about 7/8 of the way up (this should be continuously wound from top to bottom) this will be why there is no reading. I assume the wire can be rewound. Head off to Parrots to get it repaired - let us know if you get the helpful guy or the grumpy bugger* * grumpy bugger may be only be available to jaguar owners
  16. My old Headmaster is convening the swap meet. I wonder if he still wears roman sandals, walk socks, stubbies and a tie?
  17. This is correct - I tried to get the original plate back on my bike after this rule had been brought in. I couldn't as it had been re-regged with a new plate
  18. Hannah Motors is good he's just off Annex Road / Birmingham Drive. Don't think he's open weekends but does have a loan car if you can drop off during the week
  19. This is quite a fleet you've got going here! I'm very jealous
  20. @jesselc I'm not far away and heading down shortly can lend a hand if needed
  21. @governorsam cheers mate - that sounds quite do-able I'll give it crack and see how I go
  22. Its true British quality isn't what it once was - they're not even 50 years old and already playing up Here's a couple of pics of the disassembly This is the inside of the front cover - I thought this was a bearing (it does spin) but it just seems to be a few bits of felt in there Main pic of the innards And the other end
