  1. That paint job looks far too nice to be a backyarder. Amazing what can be achieved with some patience and good instruction May mine turn out 25% as nice.

Sold Presume the resene high build on top. What about another cost of durapox after that to seal it all up before the final coats?
  5. Followed this from day one knowing your skills building the starlet. I spend a lot of time researching parts and pieces to make them work and i would of never thought half of this stuff would have even remotely gone together Your project is inspirational to us part-timers, Keep up the good work.

Was looking at durapox 2k primer spec sheet last night as have heard good things However "free sanding 2-pack epoxy urethane primer" sounds more like a high build, Will this actually seal the steel off from the outside world?

Anyone recommend an epoxy primer? Want to seal up the good metal while a few door patches are done, then once done will hit with the sander and blast another full seal coat on there before the high-build goes on. Anyone got hook ups/work in the industry?
  8. Actually that could have merrits to feel out the numbers and the individual cities can always get them selves a regular event local, then head to the meets in different towns when when they are on somewhere else.
  9. small parking really for a supermarket already , be alright for small meets Must be somewhere like the greerton wendys that aint in thomastown. anywhere in the mount
  10. Tauranga one always packed cause there is bugger all parking apart from the supermarket
  11. reckon should kick of monthly burgerfuel meets for starters
  12. This is the way im doing it, always wanted to build my own motor (something i find interesting) Alot of people have talked me out of it saying it could be a expensive 300 revolutions if i miss something but where is the fun in that Always wondered if somewhere has night classses for this as there are alot of beginner tricks/checks that could help alot.
  13. Good Work Mr VG On the home stretch now
  14. Good choice of powerplant you can always swap back to a na motor but who wants to go slower I like where this car is going should be an oldschool trackday weapon Hell if you decide you dont like it ill swap you my whole NA setup
  15. Pull the bulbs out of the lights and then check the wires against the chassis with them out will tell you if the wire has rubbed through somewhere so you can eliminate that.
  16. Finally decided to change the rx2 over to 4x114 stud pattern so im after a little information. Below is a picture supposely of a rx2 Knuckle arm underneath and a rx3 one on top. Showing the 65mm spacing (rx2) vs the 80mm (rx3) spacing of the bolt holes. Has anyone got a rx3/808 sitting in there attic they could measure and tell me the strut bolts are actually 80mm centers? Or even a pair of struts to measure the spacing. Assuming it is called the Knuckle arm / steering arm whatever
  17. PVC tape? like electrical tape but 50mm wide? Shit hardly sticks to anything but it itself we must be thinking different tape
  18. get a role of that 50mm pvc tape and roll out a stripe. Then you can stand back and see if you like it
  19. Anyone recommend someone to machine bands off around the Eastern Bay/taupo ?
  20. Wheels should look good , hoping one day I could pick up a set for my datsun as ill never be able to afford the real deal. Keep us updated, will be a weapon when done.
  21. Looks like a good weekends racing , there's a reasonable field there to drive through. Do they always run the pro7plus among the mx's (pro7 ?) Whats the rev limit on the mx5's seems to peel through the revs no problem. And cheers again for dropping my guards off.
  22. I have one of those alloy flywheels with clutch plate face bolted on with countersunk bolts, It looks good and has a workshop name punched in the back of it etc I just didnt like the fact that for a 13b flywheel it could be spun up to around 10000rpm and the only thing holding it on was 6 bolts through some alloy so stayed with a steel one. There are two different diameters of rotary pp around 215mm and 225mm I think what size is the v6 one Should be fun in the viva have to watch it in the wet
  23. I had a set of Mitutoyo ones left them on my desk one afternoonfor about 3 hours not even thinkin about it as was a second story in a office block been working there a few years and some cu*t flogged them. Fuckin Kawerau even the bolted down shit aint safe. So some fucker is rocking a pair with my last name engraved in them, if i come accross them ill stab the cu*t to death with them.
  24. I wonder how much difference injection would make, would look sweet with a series 4 manifold on it. Id be leaning towards sr if i were choosing a piston but im biased Alloy block maybe sr20de+t for starters but there seems to be alot of success vs destruction stories out there of people pushing to far. Im still convinced there is alot to be gained with pre turbo water/meth injection high compression setup like that but i just dont have the money to research it.
