  1. Long shot but I've replaced shocks in one of these which was making a donk. Turns out front strut mounts had parted company with the bearings and were flapping in the breeze.
  2. Manufacturers could probably make a car with economy like that but the problem is nobody would buy them because they are ugly and impractical. Imagine parallel parking!
  3. Pics don't really matter but if you really want to see them use Firefox and browse using a Russian proxy. Pics load that way.
  4. I picked up an 11mm swaybar off've a very early 84 na import from PAP. You'd have to think it was an option at order, none of the cars I have seen without a sway bar have had the tabs for one on the struts. It's unlikely it was a dealer option with that in mind. Perhaps they were horrendously overpriced...
  5. Is that valve seat ok? that damage looks like the piece of what ever got stuck between the valve and valve seat when the valve was closing.
  6. yeah not much else can be at fault if you got spark coming out coil going in the rotor/cap and only coming out three fourths of the out holes I chose to over look your reference to points
  7. I had this problem on my silvertop. Everything looked ok. Then I put new cap and rotor in, all better.
  8. I did this: Also looked at the old motor and that thing is FUCKED. It looks like the bolt that clamps the two halves of the counterweight came loose (was 10mm unwound) causing the two halves to separate over time. I couldn't figure out where all the oil it kept leaking was coming from until I wiped it's arse and found that many things came to an abrupt stop inside the motor and smashed a great big crack/dent into the case. Inside is full of silver slime and tiny bits of everything. Cam, valves, flywheel and coil will be useful spares. Everything else is goneburger.
  9. I rode mine around my yard for about 10 minutes as soon as I got home just cos.
  10. Started first pull. Had to battle exhaust bolts first.
  11. Still waiting on my motor before I get carried away... Tempting to leave the deck off and just use it to go to work on.
  12. Spares and will likely be taking all the bolt on parts suited to this mower from it to fit my one. Pretty spectacular failure, would need a new crank, piston, connecting rods. That wouldn't be cost effective I believe. Yet to receive the new engine.
  13. No engine in that pic, fuel level just right to be below the filler neck and blocked the end of the line with a bolt. Found that disc brake as Mjrstar mentions, was missing the spring that connects it to the rod connected to the pedal. Completely seized so I pulled it to bits and freed up the two pins that are meant to slide freely. Just need to get a spring now. Someone's lost a few bits that hang the deck and put some bits in the wrong place. Can get parts new from states pretty cheap by the looks. Will wait til new motor arrives, need to see if I can get electrical system fitted to the pull start motor. Hoping the output shaft sizes are the same between the motors, have been caught out by that before albeit on Honda/clones.
  14. Mower inspection weekend¡ uploading pictures
  15. Should attend their hearing and show photos of the celica as a victim impact statement. Everyone will shed a tear for what your baby has been subjected to and throw them in jail for a long time. If not they might think of an st202 celica with ss3 wing and have no pity.
  16. I have two toyota trans repair manuals, I'm not sure if they have wiring info but if you want to have a look at them, they're in this pile:
  17. Go to nearest Holden Dealership and buy AC Delco oem stuff? Cam could be worth a PM if you aren't friendly with the local dealer.
  18. I wish I could have fun with cars again but I have zero left over after other responsibilities. One day.. We seem to have very similar tastes in vehicles!
  19. My old RN40 which was a 79 had a black interior (dash + steering wheel + Door cards, but the seats were tan/brown. They all seem to have brown when they went to square headlights.
  20. Argh, this makes me question my tactic of spend all money on house/mortgage even more than just the adub.
