  1. Two things require immediate improvement Wheels Stance Leave it to another Freybergian.....
  2. Resurrection is the concept of coming back to life after death. (Google) 3 years after the last post......pure fluke I saw an original pic of this when he started in 2012 on Google images and it linked to a project thread?! Dragging this back up from the 2014, and boy, it has to be seen to be believed. The finish was worth the effort by Tyron and his helpers. How often with that much effort do people actually follow through to the end? Black cars are known to be hard to get straight. This is now as straight as a die. Without the project thread on this car it would be impossible to imagine how far it has come!
  3. Choice! Take it to ohakune for labour weekend and meet your Z cars slightly older brother. Could there be a better black 80s 2 seater Z car photo op!?
  4. Love it, I have always been a MK1 Cortina fanboy. Cool history too.

Why you taking so long Flauski? Because M-unit Can't teach an old dog new tricks (getting carried away) There are practical reasons though (well that is what I tell myself); inbuilt alarm, inbuilt circuit breakers, mega functions, no need for key.
  6. You live in Tauranga? Just picked this up for an absolute steal of a price? Nice score, those 4 doors pretty rare here, is it an Oz import?
  7. Excellent thank you gents, it was sitting in engine bay unplugged, guess that says it all! Bin ahoy!
  8. Looks like some sort of ignition thing? CDI? Electronic ballast thingee? Anyone know what brand? How should it be hooked up? Its in a Datsun with a L18 and standard points dizzy. No numbers or anything on it, just has the weird toggle on one end.
  9. I dealt with Sam at Mag and Turbs, he was real good. He is the manager. They took really good care and used stick on weights as requested with a great balance (not like some other monkeys that stick over 100g of stick on weights on wheels.)
  10. got wheels sorted at M&T , admin can delete now
  11. Oosh, cool job. looks like the same train as my Hornby my G-pops gave to me for being born in 1981
  12. Is that krylon sparkle in a can? Looks like you need a decent non-can clear coat or 5 on the top and it will look a billion times better. See my Suzi GT185 thread too see difference. It's like night/day. Digging the tyre zorst paint colour combo tho!
  13. Anyone know a local tyrefitter I can trust to do a good job for a decent price? Having worked in the industry I don't fancy paying $20 per tyre for a fit and balance of supplied tyres to my 14" Riverside R101s and stick on weight balance Just had wheels refurbed too by Rimrite so don't want em munted.
  14. What colour paint you gonna go in the end? My vote is that awesome looking factory blue / green on ya front end....
  15. Whoa! Car survive ok? Keen to see more of your one. I know your pain about the lada grief. A mate had a mint 125 at high school and this was before I had a real appreciation for all makes and models. He got grief a lot. His old man was a euro piner and loved fiats. I almost bought their Fiat 850 Coupe back in the day. His 125 was dark grey and had 125T interior, wheels, springs and engine from memory? Twin cam , dort dort sidies , the world's poorest throttle linkage (that broke almost every time he thrashed it) and performance unequal to another mates datsun 1200. Me sporting the bleached hair 20 years ago! (with Anpanman on forum) and the old owner. It was actually a really cool car. There was a white 125 and a teal 124 that went for a steal at that auction in Wanganui I went to towards the end of last year. Some dealer from Bulls bought both for 5k (and they looked pretty immaculate.) He is now trying to sell each one for higher than he paid for both.
  16. How the hell did I miss this being fully painted!? You work quick and it looks great! Are those lenses Mexicali repro spec or legit USDM? I have been considering some Mexicali ones myself.
  17. Every 1200 I have owned (3 from quick memory test) had the drivers side rear wheel issue. Looks like this ol Datsun stalwart is getting the treatment she needed. That is some super fast work!
  18. Equal strength exhaust pulse? Should be a good strong pulse too from a two stroke. I had a similar issue with my GT185 suzi twin and one of the exhausts internal baffling had broken up and was restricting flow considerably.
  19. Despite spending years on ya lawn, your not going to lose anything by just holding onto it. Good to see it Bartman!
  20. Chassis rails in engine bay OK for rust? Mazda's idea to leave a lip on the chassis rails was dumb and it allowed anything from battery acid to water or brake fluid to pool on top of rails. They also rust from inside out around where sway bar mounts to chassis rails. Awesome car. Can't wait to see more.

Finally got frame to sand blaster and now waiting to be finished. Little list for my engineer buddy - notch coil mounts - weld on mount for rear brake master cylinder - tidy seat mount welds - move rear fender mount bracket - make bracket for ignition switch - weld on mounting tags for rear indicators - fill holes in top triple tree
  22. Last time I had to use a stat dec (which was not for the last three bikes I reregd) I also had to show proof aka evidence that I owned it to back up what I was declaring. I have used a print out of a Trademe listing with me showing as winner or emails / proof of bank transfer. At the end of the day a declaration is just a statement that is witnessed so JP may want to see proof to back up the statement. Then again, just like every process with land transport (an Inconsistent mess when it comes to reregistering bikes) it can depend on how the jp/entry inspector is feeling on the day or whether they actually know the rules. In my experience about 20% of persons responsible for making these crucial decisions actually know their own rules.
