  1. Yeah buyee is easier, usually a chassis number works well in searches because they crossover in English and Japanese.
  2. SO much want! It is perfect, perfect colour perfect period correct.
  3. Isn't the white/blue ignition? Are you saying tap off that for the relay power as well? Yellow wire gives the 12V only while engine is running right? white/blue is ignition and will power relay but also provide the source to auto choke when ignition is on? I will check the voltage at the yellow wire.
  4. So the 'electric choke relay' per the above image doesn't appear to function. Am I correct in that on a standard relay white/blue is 30 and blue is 87? Why would the relay itself buzz like crazy?
  5. I can only imagine how hard finding the coupe specific bits will be so its great to be mostly complete. Yahoo search tailored for such a look; Nissan 230 - https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search/search?p=230&auccat=26322&va=230&istatus=2&exflg=1&b=1&n=50&mode=1&brand_id=115840 230 Cedric - https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search/search?p=230+セドリック&auccat=26322&va=230+セドリック&is_postage_mode=1&dest_pref_code=13&exflg=1&b=301&n=50&mode=1 230 Gloria - https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search/search?va=230+グロリア&is_postage_mode=1&dest_pref_code=13&exflg=1&b=1&n=50&mode=1&auccat=26322&tab_ex=commerce&ei=utf-8&aq=-1&oq=&sc_i=&exflg=1&p=230+グロリア&x=0&y=0 Great start, look forward to following this. Also kicked the tyres on Marketplace.
  6. Oooof, always wanted one of them. You've got all the cool toys.
  7. Yes, the screenshot above of a factory manual is indeed the factory manual I drew colours on to highlight. Yes, the auto choke relay is not even shown but can confirm it directly feeds off the yellow wire going into regulator. The voltage raises to an acceptable level (about 14.5v) when car is started so alt must be working. Still can't work out why dash light it on, every thing I have read suggests if light is on, alt is not working and won't be charging.
  8. Did that today ^ Light stays on but no solid click of relays engaging when connecting battery with key off. Some things are not getting powered, I know the auto choke relay is one for sure. Had to google the factory part number to work out what it was and as you can see, it does not exist on the wiring diagram?!
  9. Not sure? I suppose I could try another alternator but it came off a running car. Won't solve the problem with draw when car off anyway.
  10. Have now tried swapping to same as you @kicker, connecting 5 - WB to 3 - WR and diode facing the same way - it has made no difference. Still charging, charge lamp stays on, loud click from relays heard when car is off and battery connected. The alternator is a Mitsubishi AQ2250? 50 or 60A IC. Can see from the pic I just took that it is wired correctly to S and L.
  11. Yep that's what I've done, per the first pic of two plugs inc a diode. The issue is around the extra relays etc in the same circuit. For late model Z it is a seat belt warning / fuel pump, for me it appears to be ignition accessories and auto choke. I know changing the wires linked by diode may solve the lamp issue but potentially not the rest (triggering relays when car off causing draw on battery.)
  12. Have a 1977 Nissan Laurel KHC230 and the wiring has me a bit stumped. I know there are some OS experts in this field. I don't want my car to catch on fire / melt wires but I don't want to have to disconnect the battery every time it is off too! Must be some of the last cars to have external regulators. I have replaced my alternator with an IR one. I have tried following Nissan / Datsun instructions online which are a little conflicting but the wiring colours seem to match. It all seems to depend on whether other relays are in the same circuit. 1. Alternator S (signal) (Y) 2. 12v from fusable link (W) 3. 12v acc? (WR) 4. Ground (not needed) (B) 5. Alternator L (lamp) (WB) 6. +12v but shares same colour wire to a lot of other relays etc? (WL) This is what I used; After following those above instructions I can confirm - Alternator appears to be working / charging, however there are some issues - 1. warning lamp for charging stays on 2. There is draw on the battery when the car is off, relay(s) can be heard click on when positive connected. It appears that the ignition accessory relay / intermittent wiper box are powered up. Will I fix it by following these instructions instead? This shows 5 white with black stripe + 3 white with red stripe connected instead of 5 + 6 connected. Out of shot of the wiring diagram for my car it would appear that the white/red (WR) ends at the actual charge lamp on the dash? Wiring diagram for my car; Any ideas? Is changing the wiring as indicated going to stop power being fed to other devices when car is off? Or am I going to have to do something more drastic with regard to sourcing power from somewhere else?
  13. Thanks. I have since found someone bringing in 225/40/14s but only in real limited numbers.
  14. How good! So stoked for you it's getting closer to being fully complete. Cheers for the hoons. Wish I could afford the bags, ride comfort was unreal and unexpected (never been in a car with modern bags and its awesome.) All the: Comfort of standard height with no body roll Ride height of cut springs without the spine jarring over bumps. Shout out to Ace Auto Wreckers for hooking us up that alternator. Legends.
  15. Should have read this thread too. It's relevant to my 14x8 tyre options post. Could be keen on a full set of said tyres....though are they suitable for an 8" rim? I see some old talk on this forum inc a link to a letter from Falken saying the Z912 pattern is OK for 8“ (but 195/45 is not on LVVTA list.) Only other option I have heard of is the Toyo 225/40s but allegedly not sold here any longer, could possibly get (indent for months.)
  16. Long time, thought I would dredge this up. I need some wider than 185/55/14s on my Star shark 14 x 8s. Tyres look too small on a big car, plus not certable. Is there anything still available? Cheers!
  17. You wanna hear it though right?
  18. Voila Had to buzz down an edge on the kick start after kicking it once and it ever so slightly dinged the exhaust. Then I proceeded to take a ton of photos. Don't have any of the other side of the bike because it's all about the exhaust baby! I managed to track down some replica OEM Suzuki stickers for oil tank and side cover and applied. That about finished it off. Don't have anything more to do to it. Took it to DGR Wellington in May and it ran like a boss.
  19. Wowzee thats some custom mods! I considered doing the same. I tried clocking the lever around as far as possible first. It worked but meant kick starting was a challenge, had to stand at the front of the bike holding the handle bars and just push my leg forward. It worked but was way too awkward
  20. Thankfully it showed up. As you can see, no way a standard kick start will work: Started shopping around / researching and took a punt on a couple. Lucky I found a generic Chinese spec melted down Toyota Corolla on Trademe that had the same spline size and only cost $20.00. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/motorbikes/parts-for-sale/foot-pegs-mounts/listing/3309928740?bof=jeLx7anO
  21. Next up, after bolting in the engine was sorting an exhaust. I had an original tidy A100 exhaust but always kind of wanted an expansion chamber. Saw a fella on a Facebook group "Jupri Muffler" advertising custom A50 stainless steel expansion chambers in Thailand. I thought they looked good and I liked the upswept style. His exhausts didn't look too Aliexpressish for my liking. Got in contact with him and told him what I wanted. I got concerned when another fella in Oz had one made and the pipe out of the head was reduced down in pipe size to go into the expansion chamber. He warned me away. His also didn't fit quite right and had some holes in the welding. Jupri also sent me some videos of his work which was essentially welding on a tiled floor with zero safety. It was a real battle with broken English, I sent plenty of pics and measurements. I asked if he used a 'jig' and he had no idea what I was talking about. He did send me a lot of prayers and kept referring to me as friend in our really long messenger conversation lol. I tried screwing down the price knowing they love a good barter but even at $250 landed in NZ it was a good deal. Anyway, $240.00 NZD later and a real punt, I got one made. I had to bend the rear mount a little but other than that it fit not too bad with some tweaking. Not sure I would risk it again to be honest. I then had to source a kick start as there was no way a factory one would clear the pipe.
  22. Then spent hours and hours cleaning and polishing. Used a lot of water / tin foil to tidy up the chrome.
  23. At the same time I replaced a lot of the necessary consumable items - tyres, chain, sprockets, wheel bearings. I did a full oil system flush. Boy that was a prick, trying to bleed the oil line from the pump output to get it feeding back into the engine. It took using suction from a brake bleed kit to suck it as far as possible up the line first as there was not enough pump pressure / suction to get oil going vertically up the line. I even replaced the oil pump with another to ensure it wasn't an issue with the pump. I had to replace the speedo unit with a later model one as the glass on the original was smashed. It took some modifying as the original unit had much longer mounting posts. Turns out the speedos for this model are unobtanium. I also had to try find a battery side cover. They are a unique shape to the other A/AS/AC models. Turned out to be a very difficult task worldwide. I first found one through a Facebook group, thanks to a pilot in Belgium. Then, as luck would have it, I struck it lucky when when I found another A100 on Marketplace in Norsewood and it was black! The rest of the A100 is a project for another day The A100 has a larger headlight/nacelle/brake/forks but the rest is essentially the same. The headlight is a unique shape, hope I never break it! It is even different from the AC50 headlight which is also unique. I managed to find two NOS AC50 headlights through CMSNL and used one / sold the other to be able to sell the orange AC50 above. I also managed to get a NOS air filter chrome side cover from CMSNL.
