I have a bike for it, but every other part of the admin is not confirmed -
Random slightly cool stuff you built but not worth its own thread, thread

Going to stiffen up this service cart, or build around it, to mount the lathe to. Have already filled it with tooling- 1293 replies

I only have 150cc cvts

And now its a mini camper. Going to build a bathtub type base out of ply to attach it to, so it can all slide off as one piece (and have some decent mounting points) The idea is to make it a pop up, with canvas sides. It's about 76cm tall inside, so with 1.2m of canvas sides it should be pretty good inside. Will build a bed base/storage/kitchen bench into the ply base so it is all contained

Sometimes the body number was stamped in a few different spots. Obviously first is to look on firewall, maybe its just been painted over If it's been removed, that's a little bit of a problem Stuff like mustangs had multiple numbers in places like under the Fender flange, under the seat, in the foot well etc

This was the worst idea I have ever had. It's yet to see a bike Quick maths at the dump scales says it weighs about 165kg

Ms paint combined with graphs at long last

I have a bike with the vin under the seat, which is bolt on, and the chassis number on the headtube is fully filled with paint (and if you search for that number nothing comes up anyway) Life is pain

I have done some testing regarding this, and at about the 20 year mark the adhesive doesn't offer much resistance. The main thing to pay attention to is the rivet spinning just as you break through the cap which will leave an obvious mark

Does it matter that, that might remove the black printing on it. Because that seems like defacing or altering it too

Probably done now, but you could use a caramel wheel on that tape

This one looks close https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/antiques-collectables/automotive-transport/cars/listing/3920023288 This one not quite, but has the square type core https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/antiques-collectables/automotive-transport/cars/listing/3920051851

This was mildly interesting. Be good for graphs

Yeah that's how you do it. Spin in a lathe and look for wobble

By eye, then hammer it home from what I have seen of the builds on YouTube (hold it with your bare feet so it doesn't move around) I'd probably rig something up with v blocks and a surface plate I guess

Oh yeah, that could be worth inspecting. Even a stock rod coupled with a slight offset pin would gain a few cc. Here's a "big sump" GN? 125 engine 1100 ml oil vs 850ml of the normal GN125 engines. All the covers, cylinder, and head are visibly different. I dunno what this was from, but I have a suspicion that it is the engine that takes the high dome big bore piston (and probably the different pitch timing chain and conrod)
