  1. You have the right oil aye? I dont know how many people come into work with errors coz they think they can cheap out on the oil with these stupid new DPF systems.

    GL5 diff oil

Ive got 80/90 GL5 in my book as well, unless its LSD and then it needs LSD 85/140. I dont see why a GL5 would eat into bronze where GL4 wouldnt.
  3. Looking forward to this now. Weathers looking good. There will be a price pack to keep your OS WHIP running. For a lucky winner. Be their to be in. Valued at over $100. BOOM
  4. Wouldnt it need to be the same material/harndess as the pressure plate or wouldnt you get some weird clutch shudder and stuff going on?
  5. Depends what kinda "sigma". If your talking the run of the mill 81-86 rwd it wont bolt in as they are not leaf spring. The older 70s "galants" MAY bolt in as they are leaf, and the 80-86 sigma wagon MAY bolt in as they are leaf also. The wagon is 10 bolt diff also which is a bonus. Have a good look on http://www.sigma-galant.com. Theres plenty of this kinda info on their.
  6. Would some of that head sealer or radiator sealer fix this perhaps? Would still not be a long term fix tho.
  7. New plugs.Make sure you get the right gap.The ones supercheap/repco will give you are normally wrong. New leads, new dizzy cap, set timming to 10 degrees. Use either 95 or 98 fuel. Should run sweet as after that.
  8. Yeah, try shifting this to upper NI.Im in Rotorua, but could take the lancer for a drive over their on a weekend or somthing if you cant sort somthing else out.
  9. Mean, good to hear it goings. An YAY, what do i win.. .?
  10. Would there even be any benefit to going disc rear? Im guessing they are pretty light in the rear anyway...?
  11. Got the right wires hooked up to coil? does it run a ballast resister? Seem to remember having similar issues one day with a 4g63. Was somthing to do with the coil and wires.
  12. Keen for brake booster and steering box outa GSR if its not taken.

    rwd 4g63 parts

^^Thats when using the ripped belt DOHC pulleys etc or the older V belt? This is a good thread, it motivating me to finally do my DOHC swap. Things need to be super clean tho. Keen to get some of these front water conversion things if it can be done well. Theres a few options with the water, running remote thermostates etc as well. Also this cool little set up allowing you to still use the FWD water pump

    rwd 4g63 parts

Ive always found this setup interesting, its pretty damn clean. I dont know if its been fabricated or its off somthing else. It does look very "factory" tho.

yeah, i was thinking the V belt setup because i think the pulley is alittle smaller and sits further back. Ive been told the best water pump to use is from the L200, but always just figured it was the same as the sigmas etc, but possibly the position of the shaft is just alittle different. I wish i had my DOHC head here, ive got 1 of everything else to try and sus it out damn it.

    rwd 4g63 parts

Hmm, that seems like a rather large floor in the whole design. Is there any other pulley options? im sure ive seen them fitted without having to mod it.How hard is it to use the older V belt setups?
  18. ^^yea man, its kicks the hell out of a monsta tach anyday. Its like "BRO ITS REVING OUT TO 3:47PM!!". Sitting on the RHS as passenger is pretty aws too i must say.

    DOT-5???

+ 1 on using the castrol stuff in silver bottle, thats what ive ended up using after the escapades down the dot5 rout that was just a pain in the ass. I supply a fair number of race guys with fluids including brake fluids.they all just rock dirty old dot 4.1 or 5.1 and just change it regularly if things get a bit mushy.

    DOT-5???

Isnt the only real advantage with the dot5 that is non hygroscopic and silicon based or somthing?May have a slightly higher temp range. I changed from 4 to 5 a while ago in lancer when doing a few trackdays and stuff, never noticed any difference. That was going from a good 4 to a 5 tho.I think i flushed out the entire system with brakecleen, i cant remember.

    4g92 rwd config

Aftermarket ecu/get a 4g63. A 4g63 will solve all issues, whether car related or not. Its true.
  24. What danger posted everytime, just drill a pilot hole first.
  25. ^lol yeah for sure, never had any issue what so ever tho. Normally the old "i think it has a different rocker cover fitted, im not sure, i really dont know much about cars" works also.
