  1. Datman310 (I'm not sure if thats his name on this forum) has done this using a short piece of heavy duty hose.
  2. Other clubs (NZhondas, slivias NZ) often invite other car clubs to their track days to make up the numbers. (Otherwise it gets too expensive)
  3. That's because you own all the ones left in captivity! lol
  4. I gave up on the swapmeet a few years back. Seened to me that it was the same boxes of shit being bought out every year. MK2 cortina speedometers, and other junk like that. I have enough shit already, so I'm going to continue to stay away.
  5. HBI might do good work, but they rub me up the wrong way. Have you tried BNT for replacement ones?
  6. Get ripped on blow, and then force them out? lol A bloke I know reckons he used to free up stuck motors with milk, ground start them, and then sell them with a startup warrantee.
  7. I <3 this car! Were you manually shifting the trans?
  8. Hey, If your slugs are stuck in the bores, I've heard that milk is real good at freeing them up. Something in the milk (like moo cow milk, not cutting oil milk) breaks down where the piston is seized.

    sc12 help

On my sc14 I pulled out the hose tails, and just pressed in bungs.
  10. Where's the dyno sheet?
  11. Good work Hogan. Do you know what the standard compression ratio is? Should wake up your engine quite nicely.
  12. Good luck Si.
  13. How long has it been since the motor ran? I once saw the fuel pick up removed from a '65 chrysler imperial. When compressed air was applied to the line, a 6 inch long sausage of degraded fuel mud oozed out. If it's blocked like that, even your mum couldn't suck gas through it. Although chances are the juice has just drained back. Definately try KK's idea.
  14. I'm pretty sure that someone else beat ten-five to the punch for this diff.
  15. I'm 99.99997% sure that cutting and welding of Cast (or forged) steering components is full blown no-no. something to do with there being no way of knowing what material the stuff was made from to begin with, so there being no gaurantee that the weld will stay glued together. (Just what I've heard, might be bullshit)
  16. I Ussually go up the hill from governers bay to the sign of the kiwi a dozen times or so. Coasting back down each time with the motor off. Keeping the gears up, but not letting the motor run too slow. One engine I ran in by doing a repeated max speed test. Four or five times up and down a 6.8km straight of road. We even towed it there so the fesh engine wouldn't have to idle.
  17. If I'm about when your in dirty old quake town, I'll gladly meet up for a beer/bourbon or 10. We have a small but dedicated core of actives here. Plus a few fringers, and lots of ghosts.
  18. You can get rebuild kits for most auto's off the net for shit. Which shop quoted that price? I knew a guy who worked at an auto shop. (Name withheld) They charged top dollar, but the guys who worked there were monkeys.
  19. Fuck all. Gearbox mounts are real easy to make. What flavour of machine do you have?
  20. Whats it in? The BW35 is a complete lemon. If you've lost reverse, chances are your reverse band is toast. I have a factory valiant workshop manual, which has a chapter on the type 35. Thats right, falcons and valiaints had the same gearbox as Avengers, hunters, and trumpets. The Vals eat them for breakfast.
  21. OMG! Dereg_leppa. That is fucking gold. It's only funny because it's true too!
  22. Nice repairs. For all their faults, these 'goons are very under rated. There should be plenty of space under the hood for that supercharger too............
  23. I haven't followed that link, but someone told me the auto's and manuals had different floor pans. (might be BS?)
  24. Shit ten5. Shane BRE510 will be coming down for the NZdatsun nats at labour weekend. He's from Hawkes Bay. But he has family in Aucks that he visits from time to time. I'm sure if you asked him nicely he might help you out. I also know Vaughan too. (Classicdat) He's a GC as well.
