  1. Does this guy have the info on how to pull the codes? I know nothing bout doing this on this vehicle and itd be cool if it were put up . i mean 90% it will be the temp sensor and it prob wont even throw a code (will be reading 20% out but still within the scope of the ECU) but hey, having those codes is gold to finding the issue if they are there.
  2. V8's dont need none of that range change shit ... but hey if you wanted to , running a hilux transfer case backwards might work.
  3. Having first hand knowledge of such things , having a manual v8 is just the ducks nuts . However at high power/torque levels and massive cams id revert back to auto for sure.

Weird the light isnt coming on , check voltage @ battery with engine off , then with engine running at high idle (1000 rpm) should be around 14 volts . if its less then 14 but mroe then original battery voltage then its charging but maybe some of the diodes are knackered. a sparky should be able to chime in here.

  13. Yeah , they are awesome till the gearbox/ shaft on the turbine siezes and rips itself off the side of the block .
  14. I thought it was a turbine in behind the turbo that went through a gearbox and attached to the flywheel? pretty sure thats how the Volvo ones work anyhow . I might also be thinking of something completely different
  15. Yeah that top one is pretty gnarly i mean its not where the fire ring sits but yeah. Also noticed the pitting between the liner and block which wont help sealing at all

  19. Also dets have the different injectors. Hey see a drop down resistor off a Honda of some sort. Looked way better then the factory one.
  20. The ecus do have different numbers but I can't remember the difference. They are one number out. I'm pretty sure the cams are the same. It's only the ca16 inlet cam that is different the 18's are the same. I had a de that had squirters and also a det block that didn't. Like Bart said . de pistons have a dome and set are flat top.
