  1. Jesus christ man! Only just checked this since you first got the mazda to pull the motor out - some serious work since then, keep it up Alex!!
  2. Right. So going from I left off last. Found this sweet AM radio that I got given years ago – since I’m planning of running a later model head unit in the glovebox I thought this was the perfect fit for the vacant slot in the dash. Made up a pretty simple bracket and then Boom town, interior complete! Got a set of falcon steels couple years ago – wire wheel plus some industrial g-black. Can see the change from stripped – etched – and rusty. So got a bunch of new stz for this from Thailand and Taiwan. Everything reproduction seems a little off so some tweaks here and there make things fit close enough. IE Round holes filed into square etc and slightly massaged Always have this intention of running slam and wideish reyums. Therefore some guard lipping/cutting required. Plenty of room now! And here is about how much got lopped off While I was at it I got some reproduction fender indicators as the original ones were simply bulb s and lenses rangily help in with some silicone gunk and was fairly degradable to the touch. You can see here the bottom is what I had (with only a lens). The middle is the reproduction with the shitty connector and the top is the repo unit with the original connection soldered on to length. Much better. While I was at it I managed (after a couple of years of trying) to get this wellside imported. Pretty good as the old one was just too much swiss cheese and denty to fix. Most mounting points fitted except the front too which were removable. Chucked the mounts off the original tray on and they lined up sweet as. Chucked everything together for wof time. The bump stops at the front needed a little work/trim as did the taillights on the new tray. Aaaaand a pic from the less pointy end.
  3. Haha wellside work starts when I can - I buggered my back up last week a couple times so just waiting for it to come right (hopefully soon) and then I'll rip into it. There are a couple issues that I will need to work around and have a think about - mainly to do with the taillights not fitting the body lines too well... will try take some photos and update my thread this weekend.... wowee that is a task in itself hah
  4. Yea I wasn't too sure when you first tried it and didnt line up because I thought they were jsut the SWB and LWB but the 'Super Deluxe' with the longer cab makes sence. From the brouchure it looks like the Super Deluxe was only ever came as a LWB. That red one on trademe is pretty cool with the dome button cressida seats and shit haha the extra cab length would def be benificial. How do you find yours to drive? not cramped? Im bout 5' 11" but wouldnt wanna be much taller for my standard cab hah
  5. you and I like too much of the same stuff/we are the same person
  6. You always know my thoughts on this Richy.. One cool KP!
  7. DUUUUDDDEEEE!!!!! I know why your new wellside seems ‘too long’! When I was looking at that 75years of Toyota lineage I naturally went to be a RN30/40 piner and checked it out. I was interested to find out there was a ‘Super Deluxe’ version offered when the cab was extended to give more leg room etc. They had the specs and a wee blurb: And this page in particular gives you the internal tray dimensions of the models. http://toyota.vo.lln...tml#page_num=16 I guess this means you might have to section up to 90mm out of it (65m going off the internal dimensions)… compared to
  8. Although it's sad to see the barbed wire HQ leave, this thing is just on another level!
  9. shit yes, swish. always wanted a B1600 like that - that green is pretty choice colour, canlt say ive seen it on a b1600 before..
  10. Jeah boy good shit on getting wof etc!! those 7"s will prob fit on the front no probs (depending on what tyre you run and how low you go I guess) but if you run the wellside again those 8.5s might be a squeeze! I trialed my 8" tridies on the back of mine the other week and it looks like it might be a bit tight even with a bit of guard lipping. will have to get a shot for you once i get a wof for mine and tinker with some lowering
  11. Mean. and if your first one was anything to go by .... wowowoweeeeee also, I notice this has drivers door monsoon thing - a full set would be a charm!
  12. Strewth how have I not seen this thread before hand. so so sweet mate, glad to see you rocking the wicked stripes and guttering stz, looks great! Oh no way? do you still have it? I think you might have to get it going then!!
  13. It's crazy what some people throw out. such a sweet light, complements this sweet bike splendidly!!
  14. Oh yup yup fair nuff mate, that R100 is the pick of the litter I'd be pretty happy!
  15. Oh true yea might be getting my wires crossed and have just read up on it somewhere on the net - the stainless (?) inserts in the bumper triggered it good to see your are a bit of a Mazda fiend, got any future plans/more Mazdas in the pipelines?
  16. Yup that's the one (the name is Rob Donaldson so close enough!) He's lived there since we've been there and has it as long as I can remember, so yea, over 25years. Rob's still got that sweet mo and is a flippin GC good sort. He got a fibreglass cab for it yeeeaaaarrrss ago (I remember it sitting in front of his crib for ages) and then everything disappeared for what seemed like a long time. Came back all lushed up and he was back to using it daily – I would hear it start up every morning, was awesome. Was having a chat to Rob before Christmas and unfortunately the ol girl has some serious chassis rust so this, combined with an upgrade to a later model cruiser for more leg room (ute with the same tan for the cab), means the 40 is parked up at the moment. He’s been on the hunt for a decent chassis for it but nothing yet – so if anyone knows of a decent, non rusty ute chassis I’ll pass the details onto him as that beast needs to live again!
  17. FJ is so sweet. my mothers neighbour has a sweet ute version with 350 chev etc, such a staunch shape. full pine.
  18. wow great work on both!! R100 is stunning and great work on the 323; 1000000000 times better! I think i rememeber seeing a writeup in nzpc on your sev too?? Few years back?
  19. Less of a crim/how could they ticket you with that slug. Also, this thing is awesomely loud!!
  20. JEEAAHHHH love that 3 mirror action and sweet hidden wellside rust.
  21. funny you should say that Allan! during reassembly I kept thinking how sweet it would have been to paint it in a sweet satin blue or red. but I went with the white because then wouldnt have to paint the interior etc and white is cheap. if the old paint wasnt so fucked I would never have pulled it apart...but you know what state it was in. I think i have a couple pics somewhere of when I got it; should chuck them up here. gonna do some sweet original inspired pinstripes or somehting to break up the white.
