  1. I'll nab some photos tonight. I'd love some diesel like torque but would also be nice to do redline pulls when the hooligan in me wants too The deciding factor may be BECAUSE FREE. In saying that. Anyone have a td04 - td05 swap hankering?
  2. Oh this thread looked so promising on the surface I was given a TD-04l of which I know nothing about because my middle name is Snow. I know little about anything turbo as I've never had one nor had much interest in them, why spin a turbine when you can spin an engine? Well because spinning a turbine is betterer and I'm a stupid because BOOST. So I have the lingo down, now it's time for some actual knowledge. Seems like this is a pretty small turbo for a 1800 or something similar but looking on the great Google it says they were used EVO 1-3. But...... I may need a photo of the stamps on the housings so that if there be any aficionados out there they could perhaps slather me in their buttery knowledge. WTF is this going on? Well I want to put a turbo on my FE-DOHC (2.0) because I'm old and lazy and need a turbo to make the drive to/from work up and down hills a much easier proposition. And since I have a FREE TURBO I might as well use that right?
  3. I may have just stolen the trilogy in preparation for this. Botany is comfortable, doesnt get slow frame rate like silvia park (though apparently only I notice that it's like a fucking flick book). I'm in! I may also be working, I'm still in!
  4. Yep 70's and 80's "wood paneling" (think National Lampoon's Vacation) were thick, really thick, vinyl "stickers". It's where the "woodgrain stripe remover" product came from, it's that FUCKING HARD to remove The Di-Noc isn't as thick as the OG stuff, but it's still really thick for a vinyl. As all things finish related, the finish is only as good as the substrate/prep. Looking forward to the results. If you need any gear or get a bit stuck, PM me and swing by sometime. You can check out AALAWS SR Decals and tell me if they're any good.
  5. The fluid coatings are awesome. And I should get into them. But.......... meh. Total Supply used to have it the vinyl version but they didn't move much so they canned it, they still have "woodgrain stripe remover" though. Which boat painters think is super smelly stuff..... yeah, that bad. It'll mess you up good for the week but I digress. http://solutions.3mnz.co.nz/wps/portal/3M/en_NZ/CG/Graphic_Solutions/Prod_Info/Catalog/?PC_Z7_RJH9U523085LC02VJN4NAR1S54000000_nid=HB86MJMDDHbeJ99QR0TDW9gl Di-Noc is the stuff they used to stock, they could get some but I'm not sure if 3M would supply by the meter. If you'd like some I can ask who still retails it. Or if they still have some knocking around out the back somewhere. It'd be past it shelf life if it was.
  6. And that's sheepers. Opinion. read something somewhere. More opinion. It's like you have a response template! //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/40047-is-my-car-oldschool/ That's what he's referring to. I like that date, the changing of the plates. And it'd allow it to go into the OS category. (May 86 with no "facelift" just minor cosmetic changes) Just start it, if there is more pantie bunching it'll magically move, or since he's an admin he'll probably just move it.
  7. Half in half out of the 80's production run. So if the body style started in the 80's then I say stick it up! I believe the OS cut off is 1990? Then it's in the "other projects" section as mjrstar said. Doooo iiiittttttttttt!
  8. Just remember they have to be 1 piece construction pedals (I believe) because that's stronger than correctly made ones used for 15 years of rallying abuse........ or something something certification something.
  9. I think perpetuation is more fitting
  10. Wouldn't want any turning to steam in that setup! Must have a pretty good throughput Some great tables on here, I've got to do the same for a 3 x 1.5 table on castors. Now to find some time and money and...... that other thing.... ummm..... oh yeah, skill!
  11. Saw this the other day when planning out something with a mate, not sure if still current. MSNZ. If the boot is sealed off from the cockpit you just have to make sure that its secured appropriately and the positive terminal covered. If the boot is not sealed and the battery is not dry cell, then it needs to be in a sealed box with a vent outside of the car. If the battery is dry cell (defined as being able to be mounted in any orientation), then it can go anywhere in the car and just needs to be secured properly with the positive terminal covered.
  12. IMO it'll run fine without the vct function. It'll run better with it. Throw a hoary cam at it and forget about it in either case
  13. Since you didn't dig a pit you must be installing a hoist! Yay! How deep was that slab again?
  14. OMG I'm so glad this thread has resurrected It's an easter miracle, it's so unexpected Now that 7Ven is here it's only going to get worse, He's an abbo through and through, chapter and verse. But he's got me going, I'm all riled up Thinking about 2 girls and one cup It's not any better with felix and his scat It's only giving me a bigger fat But my thanks goes to Big Valve Buddy Got me off and now it's just a stubby Glued eyelashes together in his buggy.
  15. It's OS round here so TOWBALL or GTFO!
  16. While I applaud anyone creating intakes I do wonder why not just buy one? There are SO FEKKING MANY out there it's ridiculously cheap to buy one. So have a look......... then build one anyway What setup will you be running? Plenum design I feel is the most important part if running a turbo, runner length less so. (from what I gathered when laying out my NA intake). There is some maths you should apply with how it tapers and volume and such.
  17. FOLLOWED. This looks great, you're doing a fine job.
  18. Oh hot damn, thanks for the pic, It makes my dick hard, I'm gunna cum quick. Lucky lucky Alltorque you got your wish, To get anything like that, I've got to lick something out of a dish. I like my bikes like I like my women, with a stretched out rear, Not like that, I mean for carrying beer. Who am I kidding? I'll take it as I can, I'm not a looker, I'm an ugly man. I just wish I had Yolandi Visser singing me a song, But all I have is is Felix and his furry dong Now ODB is here talking about forming a train and some drizzle, Well I'm down, but I bags being the caboose, fo shizzle. Flyingbrick, I'm down for tipping a moo moo But I'll need some beers before I turn babies blue.
  19. Holy shit what happened to this thread, It was about a bike now it's a rap battle instead? Putting words together like mayo and relish, To be honest it's making me jealous. You're rhymes are slick if a little hard core, But what can I expect you were raised by a whore. Oh shit, look what you made me do, Now I'm slinging shit like you! It's gone down hill, we're off the rails, Now's the time I question if you are males? You're diddles be weak, puny and small, Drop your pants, is that all? So if you ain't bringing it from the front, Turn around and show me ya cunt.
  20. Well that sucks But what you're saying is that you want to start a cert SUPER centre with all the bells and whistles so that you can increase your throughput by people coming to you? Right'o, I'll get right on it, Rustisize and R100 will be up to speed shortly. Does the stripper pole have to be feng shui'd to the bar and pool table or are you happy with it just anywhere? OS SUPER Cert Centre Ltd 2015, we'll have a couple of car trailers to help those who cannot help themselves get their rigs to ours.
  21. If you don't mind a surge tank, run that option. You'll have piece of mind that you're not going to run her dry around the sweeper at hamptons. And with an FE3 you know you'll want a turbo sometime (like me). My 2 cents reckons it's easier to set up a surge than a baffle/s.
  22. I fink your car is freeky and I like it a lot.
  23. Cut & replace would be my suggestion but perhaps not your preference Good to see some love going into an old caravan though
