  1. Pretty sure that is fucked. But you've started now and I ban you from giving up. At the very least convert it to run on steam.
  2. I want to see a close up of your jb weld rust repair
  3. https://www.spilltech.com/wcsstore/SpillTechUSCatalogAssetStore/Attachment/documents/ccg/CBOOM.pdf Reckons: M oderate – Some effect on the material at the given concentration and temperature. Caution advised Make sure to use a good filter if you use it and don't use it between the filter and carburettor.
  4. He just doesn't want to admit that he forgot to top up the blinker fluid.
  5. If you were just to do the input/output shaft bearings, you could easily do it yourself without a press. Digging any deeper will probably lead to a headache though.
  6. [At the risk of being laughed out of here] Have you hooked it into a diagnostics machine? That could possibly tell you something of importance. Also, if the Mitsubishi manuals are anything like the Nissan manuals it will have a big list of detectable and nondetectable faults which you could go through and check.
  7. Depends where the vacuum is drawn from. On a 4K the vacuum is drawn from above the throttle valve so there is only vacuum advance when the throttle is open.
  8. VTNZ WoF obtained. Now has 0% brake imbalance on rear, seatbelt buckle is bolted to the car, lights produce the correct pattern and my seat rail is rigid again.
  9. Okay cool, I'll stay shut up from now.
  10. Have you put an ammeter to it? See if something is loading it
  11. Could run a little lean when you first start it, so that could possibly do some damage.
  12. Top butterfly is choke. Put a choke cable on. Butterfly below the choke is your main throttle, this should be actuated by the accelerator cable. Other butterfly is the secondary, this gets activated under higher loads. (I think it also gets moved a little when the throttle is pushed wide open, can't quite remember)
  13. Not sure if I will be able to make it. My car failed WoF today and I will need to fix a few little things. Also have quite a few things to study for this weekend.
  14. Shirley you could have come up with a better joke than that?
  15. The KPR-starlet method for solving UTEs.
  16. Pictureless update. Flushed cooling system today. Ran some cooling system flush stuff through and drained the system a couple of times and then filled with coolant and water. Amazingly small capacity in the cooling system on these, just over 3 L.
  17. Sunroofs are cool. Never need certs either.
  18. Pulled engine apart and replaced the head gasket today. New head gasket. (Toyota) Got head skimmed. New thermostat. (Some repco thing) New oil. (Magnatec) New filter. (Toyota) Probably some other things. Runs like a champ now. Hopefully it stays good. Will get the radiator flushed as soon as possible.
  19. Engine is all back together and running now. It has never run so well in my memory. Changed oil and filter after letting it run for about 5 minutes. Gonna get radiator flushed as soon as possible. Will probably have to do the water pump at some point for good measure. Not a bad amount of corrosion for 31 years.
  20. Number 4 was steam cleaned by the motor.
