if one was to replace bearings in a Toyota 1hz, and genuine toyota bearings are not available, does one need to go to ACL Race series for longetivity, or normal ACL's sufficient flogging season about to start again, and clutch is slipping, so birthday could be on the cards
  5. YX60 ? series Cressida could worth investigation ? i know the 2L diesel have different sumps for application into same range of vehicles
  6. will there be a difference with the donor vehicle ? 2wd ute v 4wd ute van v car/wagon
  7. very good idea, so good that i know where one is cheap for refurb.
  8. cheap insurance . many 15A appliances will run on 10A (if it actually is 10A), but ensuring you have at least 15A spare, after lights/stereo/compressor etc is where heavier circuits come into their own . have run some pretty decent loads on 10A, but wrecked a few motor windings on it too furthermore, ensure the supply cabling to the workshop submain is adequate.
  9. maybe try it as a flat single-sided mould ? ... the same way pendant sinkers are made
  10. so nobody told anyone at Ashburton Car Club, did they ?? !!!
  11. 24v tail-lift pumps are easy enough to get. was a mission finding the 12v unit for my suzuki
  12. and a remote valve for the tipper
  13. pay for gas and a kind gesture and its available for her.
  14. will this work ?? or colour not sit right?
  15. Ask MV Motors, they have every flavour covered !! but I can ask Jimmy if the GT Coon is available, he clutha based.
  16. find someone with an F code Toyota centre and check the spline fitment, as easier to get LSD from Altezza I know the smaller H165 is same spline as Toyota T and they can be trans-fitted with some tweaking .
  17. does he have access to a hiab ? he could try prying the BJ45 from around the corner
  18. could be very wrong, but...…. when I was doing dual air gauges for jap truck compliance, there was an outfit in CHCH that was supplying Jap metric to BSP/NPT for the conversion, Transpecs ???????? am away in boonies ATM, but try your local brakes company.. i'd be surprises if BNT don't have access to them.
  19. what brand would you prefer !!! a fella i know is getting them in, and i guess others will be too, unless they are not in fact Chinese, and are made in a by his clever brother in UK?
  20. i'm calling your bluff , Mr Ritchie. you want to savour the flavour of the DoBro snags at Riversdale butchery. BTW, when do you head back to the pig island ?
  21. i wanted a price for 350mm long, 180lb/in coilover springs and Bilstein inserts. Chris was adamant i needed to send the entire unit up for him to measure and fit, then charge a 're-valvling fee for an off the shelf part. have also heard some of his rebuild parts are not the real deal, but merely a knock-off
  22. @idealneil........ Techneil in CHCH. does real rebuilds up to WRC spec. after the limited contact with Chris at Suspensiontech i wouldn't waste my time with thim
  23. good in theory, but use heavy grease on drill bit to avoid ingress of swarf, weld a threaded insert on there so you can change the oil grade if to soft/ stiff
