  1. I got told to leave the seals on by an old timer, he sed it doesn't relay matter, it will stop all the big chunks of shit getting in from other parts, If they are not full contact seals so oil should still get in. I do what Ktrips sed anyway
  2. Your deVille looks mint, I was going to buy one once, the guy bought it over and parked it in my drive, we couldn't make it go for love nore money, it stayed there over night and then when he picked it up he robed my house
  3. I understand more resistance makes the spark jump a bigger gap to. My old ford should have solid core leads but I have carbon ones on it. I always wondered about TOPGUN leads they sell for most cars, they all have a solid stainless core ?
  4. I run a HQ Holden master cylinder in my old ford with no booster, its like standing on a brick. You could run a remote booster, I think some late 90s Holden comodors have them?

Thats so cool 741b, Good job on getting the orinagle saddle, do you have the oil bath oil filter and the rest of the read guard? Someone I know bought an Indian 741 for $7.00 and sold it for $10.00 and that was a good deal back in the day, you would pay $14.000 to $19,000 for one in going unrestored condition now
  7. I understand some of the cheep alloy radiators have the tanks epoxied onto the core tubes
  8. I just emailed the LVVC people and they say my car is a scratch build but there web site says otherwise
  9. Thank you for that info, according to this I don't have to register at as a scratch built but I am sure they will say I have to.
  10. I have a question about getting a rego for the car I have just built, its a 1927 Ford model T touring car witch has been cut down into a pick up using a 1927 pick up tray, its sitting on a 1928 model A chassis witch has had a custom kick up added for a jag IRS diff, it has a superbell front end. apart from the axles its all vintage parts. Would this have to be registered as a 1014 scratch built replica? or could it be registered as an old car with an LVV cert? There would be problems with a windscreen wiper on its horizontal split windscreen and no way to fit 3 point seat belts because there are no pillars, and burst prof door catches on the little doors would be pointless, there like petrol flaps. headlights and tail lamps have no numbers on them.
  11. You might find you don't have to bleed the brakes at all
  12. This place did one of the nicest powder coating jobs I have ever seen on a motorcycle frame I had done when I lived down there
  13. Have your mufflers been debaffled?
  14. I have a home made clutch compressor tool if your in auckland?
  15. There was an old NZ trick with the 350cc BSA B31 witch was to use a 750cc Triumph Bonneville piston witch increased the compression and took the engine out to a 409cc Maby you could shove some domed top piston in this bike?
  16. Very nice, 350 or 500cc?
  17. Hard tails are a bit hard on the spine,
  18. I look fward to seeing some photos, you will find it to be a tough reliable bike, The generator is fine and will give no trouble, its the regulators witch are annoying. The only trouble I have had is parts vibrating off, my rear exhaust pipe has come off twice and the headlight gets shaken to bits, This is my 1973 XLCH
  19. The whole thing is eroded away and the rest kinda falls out I think,
  20. The guys at BNT told me some guy had just bought an old Porsche and he was upset to find out how much a cam belt cost
  21. its about $2.00 to get a broken bolt spark eroded
  22. you lost me there
  23. Doesn't that car hold 14 liters of oil?
  24. Was that you on the Piha road today?
  25. If you need graphite or sodium silicate, I have heeps of it, you could use the sodium silicate to bind some kind of refractory together
